Cake question

I shot up 10 BRF cakes but I dont have any room to fruit them yet. After the cakes are fully colonized from the outside view of the jar I give them another week untill I fruit them. Question:How long can I keep them in my incubator untill I have to birth them? And should I lower the temps to 75-80 degrees?

your temps should be inbetween 75-80f anyways. you can leave them in the jars as long as you want but sometimes they will start pinning in the jars.

if you arent going to use them immediately, you should refrigerate them until you have room to fruit them.
in other words, yes, you should lower temperatures.
if you were to leave them in the incubator, nothing would really happen immediately, though they'd be more likely to pin in vitro at 82 degrees than at 45 degrees after a month or two of full colonization.

It will be about a month untill Im ready for them. So put them in the fridge when they get fully colonized, when ready to birth dunk them over night then fruit them? One more quick question, how long will BRF cakes last after I pressure cook them? Thanks

I pc some jars and let them sit for about two weeks, but they seemed to dry out some so i thought it would be fast just to cook up some new ones.

Think they would be hydrated enough to carry though colonization?I dunk before birth so it should recover good.

I worry that they would colonize slowly, maybe contam, maybe just piss you off. i would work with just pc'ing them one day ahead of nocing them up. if they don't seem to dry and there is nothing growing in them (if they were sterilized right there should be nothing growing) go for it! but i don't suggest cooking up a bunch of jars and saving them for time purposes or any reason for that matter.
