The Mexi-Cub and this strain from PalQ are not one in the same.
I can definatly see that from the pics.
the PALQ can only have come from one person.... CLUB99
He gave a print to us years ago that was just to contaminted from the field.. We tried working with it but just could not produce anything past trichoderma.
I'm guessing in his search for freedom of the mushroom spirit he got some new prints as Mexico is his homeland now
Give Club99 a PM ..... he can probably shed some light on it 
Someone (Sporeworks perhaps) as I'm sure Club99 probably sent them a print as well....
Well someone send us a clean print ... je je je....
Or for a Christmas report this year....I want to hear Workmans TRIP REPORT .......... any mushroom will do ....:)

uhm..no...i sent you a Huautla de Jimenez print...i wasn't able to find mushrooms in palenque when i went there....the rainy season was just over...
For what i remember the original collector's of the palenque strain were the sporechicks, the girls went there for a convention about entheogens.
Too bad i had to come back to my homeland....perhaps next summer i can get there again since i'm planning a south mexico, guatemala, costa rica tour...

As far as I am concerned, any cub from mexico could be rightly called a 'mexi-cub'. As for the Palenques, its been around for years.

so why then you call your mexican strain Tapalpa max? 
And for the palenque's being around i never saw it around since i registered in the 1999...the only pic i saw is from Stamet's TMC. Of course excluding the chick's prints....

Because that is the area it originated in, just as the Palenque originated in Palenque, the Mazatapec is from...well, take a guess! What did you possibly think?
The Palenque was offered to me twice years ago, before the sporechix.
