Rubik's Cube

Can anyone here solve them? I'm learning how to solve the 3x3x3 in my spare time. There are plenty of other productive things I could do, but I wanna get faster than the kid in my house that can solve them by the end of the year. Almost got it down without having to look at the algorithms.

I dont think ive ever gotten a whole strip right. That shit is hard, i'll mess around with one for about 10 minutes then get frustrated and pretend that somehow its not actually possible. Which makes me feel a little better.

I learned to do it when the Rubik's craze first hit in the 80's. I would have my Mom scramble my 3X3X3 and then time me. Could do it in about 2 minutes. But since then I have forgotten the patterns I learned to move cubes around where I wanted them. Nowadays I could only put one side together. I don't think I've actually played with one in close to 20 years.
The most impressive skill I've seen was videos on youtube of people solving them blindfolded! They get a scrambled cube, memorize the locations of each piece, and then put on a blindfold and put it back right without looking. And they are doing this amazing feat (including the memorization) in incredible times (less then 5 minutes).

I take the decals off and put them in the right place

I was going to say the same. It saves a lot of time that way.

More impressive are the people who do the 5x5x5 ones blindfolded. They take more time to memorize and figure out the algorithms than to actually do it.

It's been proven that you can do one in less than 28 (or was it 26) steps.
I can write a program do do this, therefore I don't need to do it myself.
HAHA. Just kidding.

I can solve them pretty much without have to look at the algarythms (sp?). It just takes a bit of memorization and practice. They are very addicting.

i know what you're talking about. i once tried rubik's cube, inhaled, held it down for ages but i failed to get high.
after trying rubik's cube i couldnt get it out of my head so i went back for seconds, this time i really held it down and i've never looked back since.
now all i do are rubik's cubes.

fuck that reminds me.. when we were hanging out at my friends house, this chick was smoking meth, and she was trying to solve my rubik's cube all fucking night. .. not saying a word, and just cubing all fucking night.. then she went to sleep, woke up the next day and spent the whole day trying to solve it again :/
