    #753097 - 07/17/02 08:53 AM (21 years, 7 months ago)

what the hell can i do to kill poison ivy? i have a strip of woods that would be ideal for outdoors but every single square inch is infested by poison ivy, it even spreads on to my lawn if its not cut for a while...i wont go near it, and theres so much it will probably come back very fast if i dont wipe out all of it...let me repeat , there is shit tons of it...i would clear a small area, but it might come back during fruiting...and i dont want an itchy stomach

Not really a cultivation question, but my suggestion would be to find another spot. Unless you get some really good weed killer that kills plants from the roots, then get some thick rubber gloves, long pants and long sleeves to wear when you rip the dead plants up. One possible problem would be the weed killer in the soil killing off your shrooms too. MIght just be easier to find another spot, the trouble and possibility of getting poison ivy all over you doesn't seem worth the possible rewards if it did work there.

Get Ortho Triox and spray on the poison ivy leaves only. 1 Week and it will be gone. Funny thing with poison ivy is; it roots underground like mycellium. One poison ivy plant can be spread around a 20'X20' area. The poison may be harmful to any other growth for about a month.
