Ubuntu 7.10
    #7530469 - 10/18/07 08:49 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

I just downloaded this today, anyone else get it? I am already having problems with it at the moment. For one it is insanely slower now, also it has crashed already when I tried to mess with the 'screens and graphics' I am not sure what kind of session to run either, whether it be Xgl or a Gnome session. Anyone else having problems?

I went to a Gnome session and it seems normal speed again. I have a test now so I can't experiment with this at the moment, but Ill try messin with it in an hour.

i believe that xgl may not be top of the line user friendly at the moment, depending on hardware.

i could be wrong though

hmm well now its working just fine. Im not sure what the problem was before, maybe it had to be rebooted a few times? ha. The Compiz stuff is alright, basically the same as when I had Beryl last year.

I've decided not to upgrade for what seems like good reason...

7.04 works fine for me, 7.1 does not sound stable yet

i'm going to put 7.1 onto a spare partition. if it works, i will see which of my /home/.* files will move over.

it is the new kde that i am excited to play with.
