Well this morning I went to my usual spot for liberty caps and found a decent amount as its been raining quite a lot the last few days. Here are the pics:

On the way home I found a field I thought was quite good and decided to hop the fence and have a look. Well I found some yellow antler fungi, pic:

While I was looking around I found a liberty cap or two, but they seem a lot different than the ones I found at my regular place, here are some of them:

Check out the bruising on this stem!!

I alos found this and a few others that looked like it in very close prximety to the liberty caps, it also has a pellicle, is it a variation or mutant?

Well thankyou for all help

Its probably ps.strictipes. When a field support libs, often there is strictipes. Because the two resemble each other so much most libhunters don't notice the difference. The stipe of strictipes is more brittle and breaks more easily when you try to pull them. The caps of ps strictipes also can flatten out alot more then libs.

So the above flattened out capped shroom is a ps.strictipes?
What is the potency of ps.strictipes? more or less than Semilanceata?

Here is another picture of the mushrooms in question, it has characteristics of a liberty cap though the cap has become flattened and the nipple like feature remains on top. If its not a liberty cap then what is it? And is it active? If so hoe potent in comparison with Semilanceata? Pic:

i have never noticed a difference in potency between P. strictipes and P. semilanceata.
that beefy beast reminds me of the P. sierrae/fimetaria i found the year before last. was this field a pasture?

looks to be a psilocybe. you will of course always want to verryify this at the least before consumption. rubbery texture, smoky tan to cinimon-brown colored gills becomming purple-grown from purple brown spores, having a pellicle which is gelatinous, translucent to transperent and viscid when moist and in most species is seperable with some ease at least when young. usualy this can be peeled off at least in small shreds and will always be gelatinous in texture.

that is correct. i am as certain i a person viewing your mushroom in a photograph over the internet can be that all is well, but i agree you should do that if nothing else then for the sake of good practice. it's not the kind of thing you want to stop keeping in mind.
