subb question
    #7528995 - 10/17/07 07:21 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

i found some subbs the other day in a nature preserve near my house. but the problem is when i went back today (2-3 days later) the only mushrooms there where the same color as the ring around the edge of subbs. they still looked exactly like subbs in every way except now most of the cap on all of the was blackish. but there was still definately different zone type things on the cap? are these still subbs? oh and when i say some i mean maybe 200 and i didnt pick them all the first day, only half. so today i went back for the other half and noticed this. help!!!

doesn't look like a subb to me.

they tend to get lighter as they dry... but I don't know the circumstances around your finds.

are you sure these had a black spore print?
