Well, I'm not here to make myself more confident in my beliefs. Just to help spread the good news about God.

Honestly it is quite draining to read most of the posts on here because it is like entering a foreign world. A world which I used to feel quite at home in. Now I feel like a stranger.

If you knew without a shadow of a doubt how real and true Jesus is, you'd be spreading the news far and wide.

I'm still just weeding out a lot of the old ideas that this place served as a breeding ground for. This was a good thread for me because I now view authority in an entirely new way.

I will submit to authority here on earth and unless it goes against God's word you will not find me complaining too much about it. This is a complete 180 turn like much of my life as of recently.

I'm still an infant in following Jesus. This board challenges my faith and helps me to grow in the understanding of what I believe.

I see a police state emerging here and it does not please me. Yet I will not be afraid.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. - Matthew 10:28

Your idea of "Good News" surely isn't mine. So it's fine with me if you don't share it here. Especially since it isn't debatable or philosophical or IMO even spiritual. IMO it's for those who have given up on the challenge of being alive. "Please daddy, tell me what to do and what to think and what to say and where to go and where to hide" and on and fucking on. It's weakness of spirit IMO and brings humanity down wherever it is found.

Damn straight.

palmersc, what do you make of this -

Romans 13:1
Submit to Government
1Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. 5Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. 6For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing. 7Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

This is taken straight out of the book of "God's Word" and it clearly states that God is GunaGitcha if you don't FUCKING OBEY!!! STOP EATING MUSHROOMS OR ASSOCIATING WITH THOSE WHO DO - THE AUTHORITY FROM GOD WILL NOT FUCKING HAVE IT! SINNER! Jesus will STRIKE YOU DOWN for this! REPENT OR BURN FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER!

Amen.

up until this post, I had a little bit more respect for this forum than I did for religion internet chat rooms.

I thought the one thing that this forum had on the chat rooms was loudmouth atheist, teenage angst ridden kids who, in their fits of blasphemous tourettes would just yell out "I fucked jesus in his ass! ha!ha!ha!" and "Like, Dude, God is Dead, and Jesus is my gardener" thinking they are so witty..... tsk tsk.
