water in bottom of jars
    #7528215 - 10/17/07 03:31 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

I made some jars following the 9er tek. They turned out fine with the right water ratio but by the 3rd day after inoculation water built in the bottom and it looked like the rice had the water squeeze out of it any ideas?

A little moister in it is fine, but if there is to much you know as well as i do that it will make them hard to colonize and more prone to contamination.
It might be that the rice couldn't suck up the water from the syringe because it was almost at full capacity. just an idea though.

near the end of my growth in the jars, they usually build up what appears to be a pool of water. but its just a TON of moisture all the way around, it just looks like water *shrugs*
