Unfortunately, I've had a couple experiences with this.
A couple short drives, and one really long one. Even a short drive on a lot of acid is scary.
The long one was hell. I had to make it from the house of my girlfriend at the time, back to my house, several big towns over. Because I was tripping, I was too paranoid to take the main roads for fear of running into the cops, so I took the back roads...
....through the mountains.....
....in the middle of a very serious snow storm.....
It was FUCKING INSANE. Think about being on 4 or 5 hits of pretty good acid, and not being able to see 5 feet in front of your car, because there is a heavy curtain of falling snow, which is distractingly utterly beautiful while you are driving on a winding mountain road in the middle of nowhere, in very slippery conditions....driving at about 5-10 miles an hour most of the way, because you're too afraid that you will lose traction, or become distracted and drive into a tree, or off a hill, and they won't find your frozen corpse for several days.
It was really scary, although pretty.
By the grace of god I made it home safe, and if I can help it, I'll never do it again.
Kids, DO NOT DRIVE ON PSYCHEDELIC DRUGS!
I got lucky. You might end up peeled off the side of the road, and the next horror story the police tell school-children so they won't take terrible drugs like LSD, and a good reason for the hacks to keep the shit illegal.

How about 4 friends rent a limo and driver to take you around?
That sounds fun!

Oh man... this I will never forget. On the night of my highschool senior prom, we took a limosine to the premier Hilton hotel in Chicago. We lived in the suburbs about 15 minutes away. Anyway I had about 4g of mushrooms on me at the time. I was going to leave it in the limosine and eat them after we left the prom. My prom didn't have any. So... I was wondering if it would be the same limo that picked us up. My friends werent sure, and I didn't want to bring the shrooms into the prom for fear of being searched. SOOO, you guessed it - I ate them!
The prom was crazy it was a pretty intense trip and I was off my face. I tried not to let too many people look me in the eye except for my friends. I saw a couple of my teachers there LOL. They knew I was trippin.
The point of the post was - the ride home from the prom was AMAZING. It WAS the same driver who picked us up, but I dont really regret eating the shrooms. The interior of the limosine was absolute ecstasy. Plush leather seats, a rectangular "chilling" area (in case some of you have never been inside of a limo) it is the sweetest fucking thing. We had the sunroof down, listening to some real good laid back jazz on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago... man it was the best. Absolutely sublime. All my friends are in a fantastic mood we just got out of the prom we're going back to our town to get fucked up and party... oh the highschool times.

I tripped and played in a disc golf tourney 2 hrs from home. Anyways, decided to eat 7g's of shroom dust and shake(from the bottom of my oz) thinking that it wouldnt be like 7gs of whole shrooms. I was wrong!
Anyways, ate lunch, then forced the powdery bits down my gullet. Hell, it was a short course and we were done in less than 2 hrs, bout when i was coming up good.....
I had to drive home on I-95 2 hrs. After some intital confusion on which way the highway was going. Even sober, the outer and inner loops of Raleigh give me problems. So what do i do.....call my dad and ask which way to go.
Well, after i was pointed the right way, i had a fuckin blast!!! System cranked with live Pink Floyd, got into town and watched the most beautiful sunset over a field....
I kinda recommend highway tripping.....its straight road, cruise control so you dont have to worry about speed, you can crank the tunes as loud as possible!!! Just go til you're bored, although the ride home might suck!!!

I used to drive 90 miles home from parties like every weekend (highway), just gripping the grain. I would stop if it got too intense which it almost always did. My most memorable experience was peaking while the sun was coming up over the horizon, 3 other friends in the car smoking an El all of the sudden I peaked really fast, it was like everything froze in crystal as the sun rays started to pour into the world, and out of the corner of my eye all of the trees lining the highway looked like they were massive trimmed hedges in the shape of transformer heads. As I was concentrating on the lane and using the lines for reference points my vision started to flash/jump and each time it did the lines on the road got closer together until I was on a solid line, needless to say I had to pull over to a gas station to rest up for a few. I went inside and my friend was out front smoking a cigarette, I saw these pickled eggs on the shelf and felt compelled to sell them to my friend via commercial style while mouthing the words through the window, I don't know why I felt that I should do this I didn't think of the glass as a barrier. The people behind the counter were just looking at me like "what is that kid doing".

Joyriding up Pacific Coast Highway from Venice Beach, through Malibu, and on to Oxnard and turning back around on a clear sunny day on some good LSD--awe-inspiring beauty.
I'd much rather prefer to be the passenger when tripping in a moving vehicle. You really miss out on "sight-seeing"--the experience in general--being the driver. At least I do because it's such a struggle to stay in my sober mind so I can focus and get myself and any passengers home safely.
I've found driving on LSD a lot easier than driving on mushrooms.
I am aware that I bring great shame to myself speaking positively of driving under the influence, as I am a hypocrite and would never suggest anyone attempt something so potentially dangerous.

Yeah it is good to be the passenger, people will drive under the influence whether you suggest it or not. I suggest everyone attempt dangerous things, better to die having some fun than to live a wimpy little puss-fart.

xaeviax said: I had to do it on the fourth of July. I went with my parents and neighbors to where they were shooting off fire works. Before the fireworks started going off my neighbors daughter shows up and it turns out she had hit someone.
Her mom started to get all panicy and suggested that I drive her home. Granted our houses were less than five miles away, I was still tripping pretty nicely on 2.5g. So not wanting to draw any suspicion from my parents or neighbors, I said yes.
It was pretty pathetic, it clearly looked like I had no idea what I was doing, and for the most part I didnt. Very minimal conversation between the two of us and a bit awkward and uncomfortable.
Luckily, where she had parked, wasnt where all the main traffic was so it was a relatively easy drive. I was so relieved when we made it back to our neighborhood. I wont do it again, though.
Great example of how the criminalization of mushrooms and anti-drug propaganda puts people in potentially life-threateningly dangerous situations that could easily have been avoided.

Yes it's a bad idea but after the experience I can't be sure that I won't do it again. One of my best trips was spent just driving around. It was after I ate five grams of really good shrooms and I personally think it brings out the open eye visuals so much more when your moving at a car's pace.

Well you don't usually plan on it but it happens.
You can have just as much fun without endangering other people's lives. You can be just as much of a badass also.
