Im off up north in a weeks time to have a week of camping and picking at a really good spot. Ive been looking forward to this all year (last was a pretty poor show )only bagged around 350.
Two weeks ago it seemed a little to hot, however now theres ground frosts predicted and im wondering if ill be wasting my time? I have got a spot relatively close, but can only visit it at weekends.
Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated
(booking off work to travel 5hrs and spending five nights in frosts is a bit daunting if theres likelyhood of there being nothing)

Apenas vaya mirada.

jaja time is now , there are 2 way of find out if mushrooms are growing in your area, watch weather report, if there is raining is a good change, but there is no guaranty you will find mushrooms now the second way and the most effective is to spend booking off work to travel 5hrs and spending five nights in frosts , so basically is only one way of finding out . also you can learn a lot in site ,even you don´´t find any but i doubt it you say 350 was not good maybe is time for a new record....

not to mention that camping five days on the downs in autumn can be it's own reward, though chaos; if that's not your idea of a good time, maybe look into a b&b? i wouldn't recomend making yourself miserable just to findmushrooms and being dissappointed if you do not. i wouldn't even recommend being dissappointed if you don't.

A frost won't kill the existing fruits immediately, and if found in good time, drying may take longer or require more immediate heat (not too hot of course).
Good luck, good fellow. Righteeyo.

Cheers for all the responses, I just needed a bit of reassurance really. Ive managed to get around 500 so far in Hertfordshire, but feel it should be a wicked experience to spend a few days away from the grind of everyday life.
The only worry I have is being able to prevent them from going mouldy whilst im away. I dont plan on being greedy but am a bit lost with how to save ones that have been collected whilst in the field?
Hmmmm (thinks)
