Anybody else ever synced the two up? I've done it sober (I know, I know lame huh?) anybody ever done it trippin'?

As for The Wall, did that one on 5 hits of some crazy LSD... Not only figured out the movie... Figured out God's divine plans lol

I saw Roger 3 times this summer, wow, he is amazing!
What's with that Oz and Dark Side thing, what does it do exactly?
Dark side is 42 minutes, isn't Oz longer than that?

It's crazy... Kinda had me trippin' out during a sober sitting... Well... Not completely sober, just stoned... But here's the best walkthrough I've found http://www.everwonder.com/david/wizardofoz/
It's too much to be simply coincidental... Blew my mind

Yeah its defiantly not coincidence, pretty fucking cool when you watch it tho. Trippin, I can't even imagine how badass it would be.

I've seen this. I think you can actually download a version of the movie that's been pre-synchronized to dark side through torrent sites or P2P clients like limewire. I read somewhere that suppousedly once the album is over (at 42 minutes), if you have it on repeat/cycle back to "speak to me/breathe" again it still fits pefectly for the rest of the movie. Haven't actually tried it, though.

No doubt in my mind it was on purpose... Had to be. But what an awesome, unmatched idea, huh? I mean genius on the synchronicity...

None of the Floyds ever mentioned it did they?
I could see syncing an equal length album with an equal length film.
Seems really amazing to do it with a loop.
I mean, every 42 minutes it's the same song playing, but different scene.
Anyone who could write the Wall is in my opinion, on a plane above us!

I saw the combo...it was very weird how it went together. Very cool thing to see everyone should watch the combo.

Awhile ago they played it on TV and if you pressed the SAP button they had Dark Side of the Moon playing.
I remember hearing something about how they were going to release a DVD with the album audio.

Both the album and the movie alone are trippy enough, I would imagine that the two combined would blow your mind while tripping. I think I will definitely watch the Wizard of Oz for my next trip. Last time I watched Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original) and it blew my mind.

Willie was great, too many musical scenes though, IMHO.
Ever watch a Mandelbrot zoom sequence?
The movie The Colors of Infinity has music by David Gilmour.

Yea you can download the torrent with the 2 already synchronized together. Im pretty sure it wasnt on purpose cause if you watch Pink Floyd: Live in Pompeii it shows the Floyd mixing and making the album in the studio. Definitely no Wizard of Oz playing in the background.
But yeah it kicks ass none the less. I watched it one of the first times I ever got high, and before I had ever heard Pink Floyd. It was so freaking crazy haha it blew my mind. Made me an instant fan.
Just a really crazy awesome coincidence.

It's pretty weird how well this synchronization works...
Whenever I listen to Dark Side of the Moon these days, I can't help but see the Wizard of Oz playing out in my head. ESPECIALLY with "The Great Gig in the Sky", that was fucking insane. I'm pretty sure it's a coincidence, but what an amazing coincidence nonetheless.

My friends and I used to get stoned and watch Family Guy muted with reggae playing. Every time we did this, some pretty impressive synchronicity was observed.
Chalk it up to being stoned if you must, but I'd agree with that statement.

Yeah I have the Dark side of the Rainbow. It's the pre synched version, I got it off Limewire.
Funny this should come up, I watched it like 3 days ago just for the hell of it.
When you watch it stoned you see more coincidences, some of them probably aren't actually there but it's still cool .
Whenever the Floyd talk about it they say it's strange but claim there was no intention. They point out there was no way to play the movie in the studio....so cosmic
There's a few different things you can do at the end of the album according to wikipedia. You can just stop, start the album again or aparrently you can play Animals or The Division Bell. They all have synchronicities.

Both very true. I just watched through this DSotM/WoO match that I've been meaning to do for about a decade now (thanks Youtube!). And all I can say is, well.
Well, it is certainly interesting. It is certainly entertaining. Fun, even.
Intentional, I doubt it.
Does it embody an overarching synchronicity of the ages? Well, maybe, but I doubt it was intended by Pink Floyd consciously. If some other being/presence caused it to happen, that could well be.
Basically, I agree with the poster who said this happens a lot with certain types of music and what is being viewed (and probably the viewer as well). You start to notice similarities you would have otherwise missed.
I think this is all silly (and great) because once I had an mp3 CD I had burned (back before all this was so popular) with a couple songs on it. As we went to partake of some sacraments, a movie that was about to being was muted. We then noticed how the first two songs matched up to the movie first in a forelorning manner (first song) and then in a comical manner (second song). Obviously, none of this was intended, but it just happened.
Everyone else said, "yeah, well, what do you expect when you are under the influence", except, I don't normally experience drastic synchronicities. It has only ever happened that once to such drastic an effect.
So I imagine this mashup is highly coincidental, a great discovery, and entirely circumstantial to boot.

Perhaps it's because our brain attach significance to random events? So it appears that things are in sync. More so when tripping, because you know how tripping makes every detail come alive.

It is coincidental. There are too many parts that do not match up at all. If it was intentional it would work much more cleanly. A lot of people expect it to be utterly mindblowing; it really isn't. Definitely very cool, but far from some grand psychedelic conspiracy.
There are many other synchs (check google), but none seem to work as well. There is one with a portion of 2001 and Echoes that is worth checking out.
There is a debate on whether you are supposed to repeat the album after it runs out. I say no, Dark Side of the Rainbow ends nicely when Dorothy puts her ear to the Tin Man's chest and we hear his heart beating.
Anyway, everyone should definitely see it if they haven't.
