has anyone ever had luck finding conocybe smithii in the PNW. I am just curious about their abundance. I live towards the foothills of the cascades on about five acres of land, which has a large portion woods as well as lots of very boggy habitats. I am more intersted in knowing that they do grow around here, I dont necessarily want to eat them, although I have read they can have one of the highest baeocystin levels known... Speaking of baeos, I have been having great luck finding cyans this fall and my brother found a truly enormous patch of stunzii in his boss's lawn last week, but still none with baeocystis. Is anyone having luck with them either?

Yes, they have, however they are pretty rare and hard to see.

Below is a sentence I stole from the Conocybe smithii wikipedia article.

"It is known to occur in Canada, Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, and Michigan, but is probably more widely distributed."

Try searching the hunting forum for smithii.
