Just joined a gym.
    #7523565 - 10/16/07 02:46 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

Yayy, I have joined a health club, just before it got really cold and biking doesn't work out anymore.

This is the first time I've ever done the gym thing.  I usually just work out at home, but it's right across the street from where I work and is a bright, open atmosphere.  There is group indoor biking and lifting, yoga classes, etc.  I'm so excited.

Time to kick my own ass.

I might do that.  I can't wait to talk to my personal trainer.  I get a free consoltation and then I might keep him/her on for a few more sessions depending on how pricey it is.  I'm really just excited about the free session because I have no idea how a lot of those machines work.

Thanks!  Taking care of my body has become important to me in the past two years or so.  I'm in my twenties...I'm supposed to look good, right?

My college gives free gym membership to all of its students.. however I don't think I could live it down if I was seen there

I just work out at home.. not to get hench or anything, but to stay in shape and toned

Certainly helps with the mental aspects of day to day life; healthy in body, healthier in mind

Hey!

What gym did you join? I've been trying to convince myself to join one - if it's somewhat close by, I think I would really benefit from having someone to work out with!

Hey Liz! I joined Today's Fitness Centers, in Woburn. It was just so damn convieniant, right across the street from where my job is. No matter what gym you decide on, it would be fun to get together sometime at one of our gyms and work it. Working out with a friend can be really motivating. I pay $45 a month and it has everything I could possibly desire, and the people are really nice too. The two year plan was only 29.99, but I might not be in the area after spring, so I did the pay as I go option.

remember... if you're going all the time, seperate your muscle groups. Ill do pecs and triceps one day (push downs, any kind of press) and the next day give them a rest and do biceps and lats (pull downs, curls, etc)

Well, Kevin's grandparents made us too good of an offer to refuse in Texas. We will be living in a house for free (Kevin owns it) and I will be getting free tuition for college, he'll be getting his real estate license, and...we just need to do it. Our goal is to get off the grid and move to Canada in five years and if we go with what's being offered in Texas, that can become an actual reality. Plus, I don't want to be spending my time working at a job that doesn't really matter to me anymore. I desperately need an education. It is for that reason we have decided to relocate. I'm sad to leave my friends up here, but...we gotta do what we gotta do, you know?

But any move won't be for six months, so I am going to get out as much as I can and explore as much of the NE as winter and early spring allows. I want to be busy with having adventures up here while I can.

I know it's sad to leave. I will miss everyone so much. I've never had so many good friends in one area.

Oh yeah, thanks for that. I heard something about that before, but I couldn't remember the details. I'd like to focus especially on my stomach, arms and thighs.

Yea if you stress the same muscles day after day ... it's not as effective as when you take a day or two break.

Remember.. your muscles build when they're repairing... not when they're stressing.

Grab some protein shakes if you're lookin' to put on some mass.. I did that routine for a while and it worked great... now I barely go 2 times a week to the gym, mostly on the tread mill.

I totally understand and respect your decision.  I'll be really sad to see you guys leave, but it's a smart choice.  You gotta think long term and about what's best for your future, and you're definitely doing that.  Plus, we can come visit and you can come visit us!

Definitely...we're just going to save so much money in the long run, and I'll be able to get an education that will last me the rest of my life. Thanks for understanding...it might be a difficult move but I know in my heart it's the right thing to do.
