Morning Glory selection & preparation

I went to get some MG seeds this afternoon only to find that there were just two packets of "Heavenly Blue" remaining. There were about three other different breeds, one of which was "Knowlians Black" which I finally chose for no special reason. Has anyone here used KB before, does it work?

Is it true, as I read here, that in preparing* MG, boiling the seeds destroys the LSA? I recall taking about 200 seeds in a tea for my first time and had a fuzzy, wide-eyed experience with few visuals (i.e. worth the hassle). Last Sunday, however, after boiling about the same quantity, I experienced very little (although I was also stoned at the time and I threw-up the seeds after 45 mins).

Also, there was a little blood present in my vomit. Could this be related?

Any help appreciated

LSA is very close to LSD, LSD is destroyed in heat so i would think boiling is a bad idea....

Just put them in a blended with some water, let sit for a little while and then blend again. After that filter all the mashed seeds out with a coffie filter or a shirt and you have trippy water

I crushed morning glory seeds in a pepper grinder then mixed them in a Wendy's Frosty. They gave me the worst upset stomach I have ever had and a lot of gas. I couldn't think about anything but my stomach.

About how many packets of Heavenly Blue Morning Glory seeds are needed to do this? Does this method also prevent you from ingesting the toxic stuff that is put on the seeds, or will washing them before hand do that?

dont eat morning glory seeds that come in packets at stores my father grew a lot of morning glories one year and and and gave me a few ounces of the seeds he harvested im not wuss so i chewed up 200 seeds and got very mild trippy effects the seeds tasted like detergent i chewed the seeds for 20 minutes before swallowing (not neccessary) it made my abdominal muscles feel tightbut it wastn that bad no nausea one warning though you can not eat morning glory seeds every day for a week or even a few days in a row your extrematies can start to peel and blister due to bad circulation that some of the the other alkaloids in the seeds cause. your fingers and toes could even get gangrene and this is called ergot poisoning my friend but you would have to eat the seeds for like a week straigh to get this effect and over all would say eating morning glorie seeds are a lot better for you than huffing gas but definately not as intense

I had some MG seeds like 3 times when i was in high school i crushed them up into a powder then put them in a drink then swallowed at first i got the worst stomach ache ive ever had in my life its un bearable i tell you but the trip is worth it from waht i rember of it just word warning the stomach ache is real bad but the trip is great.

oh i forgot to tell you as soon as the trip starts the stomache ach ends just be prepared of 45 minutes of pain.

i got these seeds from an in hightimes i think there were from hawaii and there were pretty strong i would sugest taking 3-4 seeds for your first time

OK, here goes. First off, DON'T eat seeds from any store bought packs. They're treated with chemicals to prevent rot and/or make you sick if you eat them. Some are treated with methyl mercury which is really not healthy, and could account for the blood in your vomit. Do some research before you try any of this shit. Start with Erowid.org, but don't stop there, read everything you can find.
There are several varieties that contain enough LSA's to be worthwhile. I prefer Heavenly Blues. I've never heard of Knowlian Blacks (new strain?) and don't know about them. It takes about 5 grams to get a slight trippiness, but I eat about 10 grams, but be aware that nausea (and subsequent loose bowels) can be bad, and I can't think of anything worse than puking while tripping. They don't seem to bother me that much. Some people have reported a dose of Dramamine (motion sickness medication) to help alleviate the nausea.
Buy seeds in bulk by mail order from a supplier who sells 'untreated' seeds. Grind them up in a coffee bean grinder into powder, and dump them in a bowl of vegetable soup, or something else that's light. You can also soak the powder in water for a few hours, then strain, and drink. This supposedly has less nausea but I never tried this. Don't use any heat. Heat, light, and oxygen break down LSA's (as well as LSD) so don't grind them til you're ready to use them.
Someone else mentioned something about 3 or 4 seeds. I think they're confusing Baby Hawaiian Woodrose seeds with morning glories. You only supposedly need a few of these seeds to trip (but you MUST scrape the fuzzy coating off them first which contains cyanogenic compounds - not healthy). My first post on this board is about Hawaiian Woodrose seeds that didn't work, and I don't know why. I found Morning Glories to be useful for the dry periods, but not something I care to do in a public setting, do to the need for restroom facilities. Maybe Immodium AD would help?

The water extraction works really well. Grind up 9g or so of Heavanly Blues and soak them in 8oz cold water (with some lemon juice, if you want to, to help with the extraction) for about 2 hours. Strain the water and drink it, toss the seeds. You still get some nausea but there are no bowel problems.

would you still trip off of store bought packets? how many packets would you need? how long does the trip last? how unhealthy is it to eat storebought seeds without straining?

Wow! I hope you're wrong about methyl mercury. My lady and I were just talking about that poison as it became concentrated in tuna back in the late 60's.
Northrup King Seed Co. was a company that did poison their seeds so they wouldn't be eaten. The Freedonia Seed Co. did not poison their seeds (poison warnings in red were on the flap of the Northrup packets). We used 200-300 Heavenly Blues, and I always vomited about 30 minutes after - they took off like a rocket. We would hammer them inside of a few plastic bags, then eat in apple sauce. I've read that MesoAmericans crush or grind them; place them in cheesecloth in a bowl of cold water overnight; then squeeze out the soggy seeds through the cloth and drink the liquid. Albert Hofmann has noted that this is not the most favored of inebriants. However, the first time I ever saw a sky full of silvery kaleidoscopes, was on 200 seeds, in 1971. I also thought that a man's puppy was a bear cub!

Best method is the traditional water extraction , IMO. More complex extraction methods are only worth it to get large batches of LSA, but who knows why youd ever want to do that:)

I was PM'd by someone irate about my reference to 'seeds may be treated with methyl mercury' in my
previous post. I read about this at: http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/faqs/natural_highs_faq.shtml
Scroll down to the 'morning glory' section.

I don't always believe everything I read, but Erowid seems to be pretty reliable, and erroneous info seems to
cause a debate.

In any event, I think it's wise to keep in mind, that the potential for toxic substances on the seeds exists.
