quick cloning question

so i just had a very nice very potent first flush on my cakes and they are being dunked as we speak ready for a second flush.
my question is im really wanting to clone to keep this potent mushroom strain going using this tek http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5874305/page/0/fpart/all/vc/1
do you think my second flush will be as potent as my first? they were innoc'd via multispore.
could i clone using a dried mushroom? or is the preferred method using a fresh one? what is the best method for going about doing this?
thanks for the help guys.

i did that and was Unsuccessful. not sure where i went wrong. ive made LC with no problem. but NOTHING at all happened to this. im going to attempt it again soon. but my first attempt has been sitting for over a month, with nothing happening. i even added more karo to see if that would help. nothing.
id give it a shot. but i did it step for step, and nothings happening. i got 4 clumps of mushroom in there. NOTHING!
next time im going to split the shroom open, and take a core sample from the inside

I did the tek you posted with success, although I made a silicon injection port and siliconed a tyvek filter on the jar. I can take pics if you want. Also, if you don't want to worry about sterility, I have had success boiling cardcbord slivers (3mm x ~50mm) and making a bird's nest on the bottom of a jar, and then transfering myc to it. Cardboard is selective to myc growth and you can then cut up the colonized peices and use just as you would agar wedges. Let me know if you need anything else.

Sure sure. What I have done is: cut a 2" x however long strip of cardboard Cut width-wise as thin as you can to make your cardboard slivers (mine were ~3mm, but this REALLY isn't important, I just wanted small innoc. sites. One square on the bottom of a jar would also work if you'd rather just do that) If you DO just use a square/circle of cardboard, peel off one of the sheets so the ribbed surface is exposed Boil whatever you end up with to get rid of some of the glues. Don't know how important it is, I just saw it in a tek and I don't mind boiling my substrates just to say I killed anything that may have been on it. Now take out your cardboard and make sure it is damp, but you shouldn't see glistening water on it. Put it in a 1/2 pint jar with a lid but no filter. You don't want constant gas exchange because cardboard dries really fast with tyvek filers. Maybe once a week open it up to put air in. Bam, you'll see myc start crawling over the cardboard in a few days. It never has to colonize all the way, just pick a strip that is colonized and cut it up, there's your spawn or whatever you use it for.
EDIT: This is hard to contam but I imagine it's POSSIBLE, but if you use even the smallest bit of cleanliness, You should be OK. I SUPPOSE if you use really dirty clone material you could get an infection though. You can poke a shroom with a syringe if you want but I don't like the extra water going into the jar, I just used a scalpel and cut a piece into it.

this was the smallest wisp of myc I ripped out like hair from some agar 2 days ago. It's already got a hold on the cardboard.

this is the same as cloning? can you put a chunk of a mushroom on that cardboard to clone it?
