Fucking Cats

My fucking cats knocked my incubator over today. I'm doing BRF PF and my jars have nice white patches around the inoculation points and are at day 6 after inoc. The fucking cats knocked the incubator container my jars are in off the dresser, the incubator's lid came off and the jars fell over onto the carpet. I quickly picked them up and put them back in. What do you think the chances are that my fucking cats fucked this grow up?

I'd just wait and see. Chances are it's probably contaminated, but hey maybe you'll get lucky! I can't imagine how many microorganisms are on the floor, especially the carpet. I hope the best for you though!

Probably not too much to worry about. If you have alcohol swabs, swab the lids of all your jars and the innoc holes (or swab whatever you have covering your innoc holes). If you want to be even more safe just swab every inch of every jar with alcohol (but don't let any seep into the jars). Hopefully you'll be fine, and don't take it out on your cats , you should be fine

I read that completely wrong, my bad dude. I read it as the lids of your jars fell off. If everything was still in place with the jars themselves, like Hardcore said, your probably good if you just disinfect the affected areas. Just be careful and keep the pussies out! (don't think I've ever said that before!)

you're fine, you don't even need to be using an incubator.

It's fine especially if you have a verm barrier. That's a good reason not to use an incubator and just let them colonize at room temp though...

+ 1,000,000
don't incubate if your living space is already between 68-80(F)...

Thanks, all. The fucking cats are safe and are fucking lucky I'm peaceful. After I read your posts, I used the very good and very much appreciated suggestions of wiping everything down with alcohol. My living space is a little cool these days so all I did for an incubator was put the jars (dry verm barrier on top) into a rubber-made type container over my router and covered it with a blanket. I should have known such a thing would attract my fucking curious and playful cats. I'm gonna find a safer spot now.

my dog always grabs dry shrooms off the ground when i am weighing them out, they tend to fall of the tare cup occasionally, and since im old and slow to bend over, he's like GObbble GOBBLle, then the next 6 hours I have this super hyper crazy pit bul running like mad around my house.

haha, jeetered! I hope your doggie is a happy tripper and not an angry, dosoriented one! A crazed, hallucinating pit bull would not be a fun roommate!!!
My cats love the smell of anything "earthy," but I've managed to keep them from eating any shrooms, I think. they go nuts when I bring home grocery bags with carrots or celery or whateverm, so I give them veggies to play with sometimes, but I don't think I need them tripping! The boys are neutered anyway, so it isn't like they can "trip their balls off" like the rest of us!

Ohhhh,THE FUCKING CATS,Ok I get it, I was about to direct you to otd,or the anonomous thread.LOL:D

My old roommate (who used to put his bread mold on my cakes) had 2 half african wild cats and I was able to grow fine. You just have to keep everything in one room with the doors always closed so the cats cant get in. I've seen fur and claws rip apart my ghetto home-made saran wrap & duct tape lid of a FC. You have to have strong cat-resistant tubs etc otherwise you must isolate the cats from your grow completely.
Lol and thats pretty cool your dog likes to trip. I guess all species gotta evolve sometime.

You're fucking lucky. Jars, bah.
I went away on vacation for a week. When I came back my roommate hadn't changed out the litter box. They used one of my monotubs.
At least it was a Penis Envy tub. Neutered little bastards.

Put tape on their feet.
Fucking Cats, what a concept. I'd guess you would have to tie them up so they wouldn't scratch you up though.

ROOM TEMPERATURE
Let's start a crusade against aquarium heaters!
INCUBATOR=RUBBER-MAID BIN at room temperature.
Hell, a blanket will keep the heat in well enough to give you 5 extra degrees.

I have a blanket sitting over my incubator and i always walk in to find the damn cat has climbed and sunk into the incubator inside the blanket into a little ball
I think he likes that warm cozy spot, never has had an effect on any of my jars.
If your lids were on your fine man. I have some jars stacked up on the floor of my closet incubating also.

depends on what you keep your house temp at and where you live. but i agree, if you live south, fishtank heaters aren't neccessary for 90% of the year. i have not had problems with contamination for a long time and temps around 85-90 get me extremely short incubation periods
