Incubation questions!
    #7521711 - 10/15/07 11:44 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

I have an incubator with three rye bags that consists of a box a heating mat and a blanket. I was wondering if this will work. Also i have the bags folded so that the filter is kinda closed off. So my second question is, does the mycelium need fresh air to colonize properly?

You should ether look in to making a dub-tub incubator or just do it at room temp.

During incubation you need gas exchange not F.A.E, so you should leave the filters exposed.

Hi phillyblunts,
first of all take some shots, secondly:

- Yes it will work also at room temp
- It depends how much the filter is folded, however next time you've to pay attention: if you want healthy mycelium it needs a good air exchange also to colonize the substrate not only to fruit. See with your eyes (or click with your mouse):

I suggest to read the Stamets books for a complete knowledge.
