tripped for my very first time on Saturday and, I will not lie, it was pretty fucking amazing.
However, after about 4 hours I returned to my friend's house (we went hiking), we smoked a quick bowl, and I started to feel sick and my vision became blurry...
My friend had called an ambulance because I had been gasping for air and convulsing for about 5-7 minutes (she informed me of this later while describing th incident to the doctor). Although I do not remember my body doing any of those things, I do remember a lot of pain. I heard voices, but it sounded like they were SCREAMING, I kept seeing these bright, BLINDING, flashing lights even though my eyes were closed. All of my muscles tensed up and I was unable to breathe. When I woke up I didn't know where I was and I had a hard time identifying anyone around me.
I went to the hospital and they informed me that I had had a seizure and whether or not the shrooms had anything to do with it, they weren't sure.
I'm supposed to do a follow-up appointment with a neurologist sometime this week, but before I make an appointment I want to be sure that the mushrooms had nothing to do with my seizure. Because I have had no seizures prior to this freakish episode on Saturday, I really do believe that the substances I was taking caused it.
If anyone has any information linking mushrooms to seizures, please share it with me. I'm in a deep state of confusion about what happened to me and I'm hoping someone can give me a little guidance...

Well mushrooms don't do seizures. But it is possible that they had an influence and they only increased a condition you already had.

Although I don't see how shrooms could cause seizures, I've actually read about it on several occasions on this site and elsewhere. Try searching the Shroomery for "Mushrooms seizures" or similar keywords.
That sounds really horrifying, by the way! If you've never had a seizure before and never tripped before, it's quite likely that the shrooms set it off. A lot of people have a tendency toward seizures, which can be triggered by various things like drugs, medications, flashing lights, etc. I'd say lay off the shrooms and do some further research about shrooms and seizures.

I have a friend who after smoking weed for a long time started to have epileptic seizures, usually after smoking weed. When he quit, viola the seizures disappeared.
Im not sure if weed alone is the cause of your seizures, but maybe there was an interaction between the two substances on the neurochemistry in your thinkbox.
My advice... probably a good idea to start taking multivitamins to ensure your body is getting the correct nutrition it needs. Also, try to eat 3 meals a day.
Also, if you do mushrooms again, Do Not mix the 2!!
Its not worth trying again to see if that was the cause, just assume it was... Next time, if you ever do shrooms again, stay solo, and hopefully you wont end up in a similar situation.
And if you ever begin having seizures with chronic use of a drug, stop using the drug for a while, and it might hopefully help.
