They can get quite a bit larger when conditions allow, I saw some pretty massive spore prints.

Here is a Psilocybe villarrealiae habitat shot. The location was about 50 meters by 100 meters and is on a subterranean stream which provides lots of water all the time. You can also see Cactu and his trusty styrofoam mushroom basket.

This is some Psilocybe villarrealiae mycelium growing on a natural petri dish.

The next several pictures are Psilocybe villarrealiae.

Actually all the above pictures are missing much of their detail - They are actually shot at 3648x2736 resolution, but photobucket chops them down to 1024x768. I could include the full sized images in my post, but you wouldn't like that at all.
The high resolution versions are available here, get the full size by clicking on the picture several times.

You haven't seen anything yet. I wish I had brought more memory for my camera so I didn't have to be so focused on the mushrooms all the time.
John Allen was nice enough to post a SEM of spores from this same patch:

Good morning!
> It looks dry on the habitat pics. Cactu what for great pics did you show us when shroom season is over?
It rained quite a bit the day I got there, but the rainy season is just about over.
It also rained quite a bit the third day - Lightning struck maybe 100 yards from where we were and the place where Cactu put his tent turned into a small lake in the middle of the night.

Just down the hill from the above shot was a river where a bluing Inocybe was found.
The pictures above have been cut to 1024x768. Full 3600x2700 resolution photos of Psilocybe villarrealiae are available here:
http://mushroomobserver.org/4426 (Oct 6) http://mushroomobserver.org/4443 (Oct 7)
Use the higher resolution ones when making enlargements or posters.
