just... amazing...

Quote:
Oct. 15, 2007 issue - The colonel was furious. "Can you believe it? They actually drew their weapons on U.S. soldiers." He was describing a 2006 car accident, in which an SUV full of Blackwater operatives had crashed into a U.S. Army Humvee on a street in Baghdad's Green Zone. The colonel, who was involved in a follow-up investigation and spoke on the condition he not be named, said the Blackwater guards disarmed the U.S. Army soldiers and made them lie on the ground at gunpoint until they could disentangle the SUV. His account was confirmed by the head of another private security company.
just crazy... isn't holding us soliers at gunpoint in a warzone.... i dunno.. some kind of crime?

Is it amazing? Or is it predictable?
As to the rape:
Jamie Leigh Jones, now 22, says that after she was raped by multiple men at a KBR camp in the Green Zone, the company put her under guard in a shipping container with a bed and warned her that if she left Iraq for medical treatment, she'd be out of a job.
"Don't plan on working back in Iraq. There won't be a position here, and there won't be a position in Houston," Jones says she was told.
Well maybe doggy-style if she plays nice-nice.
At least America and her corporate whores constantly maintains her moral high ground being a Christian God-Fearing, automatic gun-toting nation and all.

I must not be reading this right. I am going to return to this at a later point because I feel myself turning white hot right about now.
I am so sick of this swinish administration and its brain-dead minions.

From what I understand, no.
We cannot lose the living embodiment of the Military Industrial Complex so easily it seems. We fight these sick wars for people like this you know? That's the whole point.

Sounds more like an interest in personality war than a discussion of the topic at hand.

wow, that is really strange. conspiracy???
I tried finding it again, but 90% of the sites that i found were all broken links as well... very odd indeed.
Here's one that has some of the original article:
http://www.newsique.com/conflicts/does_blackwater_play_by_its_own_/
after doing some more searching, I am CONVINCED that the original article has been trashed by Newsweek/MSNBC. I mean there are hundreds of blogs and sites all linking to the same place - which returns an error. This article was obviously deleted.

Though probably because whoever owned the original site didn't want to pay (what could be a very large bill) for the surge in bandwidth from the sudden popularity due to cross linking rather than some kind of nefarious conspiracy.

This article has disappeared for a little while. I found a partial cache with the first three graphs:
By Rod Nordland and Mark Hosenball Oct. 15, 2007
The colonel was furious. “Can you believe it? They actually drew their weapons on U.S. soldiers.” He was describing a 2006 car accident, in which an SUV full of Blackwater operatives had crashed into a U.S. Army Humvee on a street in Baghdad’s Green Zone. The colonel, who was involved in a follow-up investigation and spoke on the condition he not be named, said the Blackwater guards disarmed the U.S. Army soldiers and made them lie on the ground at gunpoint until they could disentangle the SUV. His account was confirmed by the head of another private security company. Asked to address this and other allegations in this story, Blackwater spokesperson Anne Tyrrell said, “This type of gossip has led to many soap operas in the press.”
Whatever else Blackwater is or isn’t guilty of—a topic of intense interest in Washington—it has a well-earned reputation in Iraq for arrogance and high-handedness. Iraqis naturally have the most serious complaints; dozens have been killed by Blackwater operatives since the beginning of the war. But many American civilian and military officials in Iraq also have little sympathy for the private security company and its highly paid employees. With an uproar growing in Congress over Blackwater’s alleged excesses, the North Carolina-based company is finding few supporters.
Responsible for guarding top U.S. officials in Iraq, Blackwater operatives are often accused of playing by their own rules. Unlike nearly everyone else who enters the Green Zone, said an American soldier who guards a gate, Blackwater gunmen refuse to stop and clear their weapons of live ammunition once inside. One military contractor, who spoke anonymously for fear of retribution in his industry, recounted the story of a Blackwater operative who answered a Marine officer’s order to put his pistol on safety when entering a base post office by saying, “This is my safety,” and wiggling his trigger finger in the air. “Their attitude was, ‘We’re f—ing security; we don’t have to answer to anybody’.”

Newsweek? MSNBC?
ya man, seriously. I mean, tell me I'm not being a conspiracy theorist this time... why would a story that was posted within the last week get buried? Here's a link from google's archive:
http://tinyurl.com/ywqlch
I'll post it in it's entirety, since it may be gone completely soon. Apparently it's in the October 15 2007 issue of Newsweek as well, but pretty strange how the article disappeared online.
