Damn, and I thought I was a good gardener...
    #7519917 - 10/15/07 03:17 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

...proud of the fact that I haven't had any real outbreaks of disease or pests... 'till I looked at my Salvia this morning.

What's up with this? Is it fungal, or just a weird deformity? Any help would be appriciated... :mushroom2:

A fungal infection.

Hmm, now that I look at it, the first picture looks like something different, but the other two are most certainly some sort of fungus or disease; they aren't just drying out.

Anyway, I took some rubbing alcohol and wiped the affected areas with a q-tip... hopefully this solves the problem.

I wouldn't necesarily say getting infection on your plants means you're not a good gardner, man.

Is it coming into contact with water? Looks like it could be related to that. It doesn't look too serious to me.

Heya,

To me it looks a bit like heatburn.. My sally get those when it grows too close to the light  If that CAN be the case try moving plant further from light.. otherwise I have no idea

Well, the only light is a really dim "cool white" flo. light... and it's a good 1/2 ft away from the plant.

I think I might be misting too much though, if it is a fungal thing. I had been misting 2-3 times a day. I'm going to see if I can stop misting alltogether, since there is a cool mist humidifier in the room.

In my opinion Sally doesn't really need misting at all.. I stopped misting after getting my cuttings properly rooted and out from humidity tent and there have been no problems with low humidity environment (which my apartment is).
