Plain water is fine. I use tap water. If there's a lot of minerals in your well water, you might want to filter it first.

Definitely do *not* use a bleach solution; that will slaughter your mycelium. The H202 will likely not do much in a spritzer; the violence it'll endure, mixing with water, and light, will cause it to break down before it ever hits the soil.

There's no sterile culture needed, or possible, once your cakes are birthed; they generally won't contaminate if they're fully colonized/fruiting.

If your tap water is really bad, give it a pass through a brita jug before putting it in, if it doesn't smell of chlorine, you'll probably be fine if you use it straight.
