your favourite food allies?

what foods do you feel are an important part of your diet and in some sense, wouldn't like to go without?
for me; nuts and seeds of all types, especially hazelnuts. i also quite like those goji/wolf berries which seem to be doing the rounds in the health shops. tomatoes and broccoli are a major part of my diet, too damn tasty! honey; i love trying all the different types. and on occasion i like to partake in a big durian and mangosteen fruit feast
so, anyone have any other recommendations?

well aside from super green foods i've been really enjoying whole grain couscous. due to its high fiber content it keeps me full longer and gives me the energy i need for my physical activity.
cauliflower is another ally that i put high on my list.

Pure pressed carrot juice, don't know how I lived without it.
I like the goji berries too. Don't know how much they cost in health shops but at the super market they are ridiculous. www.mountainroseherbs.com has them for $10 a pound, which is pretty good. The batch I tried were very moist and flavorful, unfortunately they are out of stock at the moment. TCM herb shops often sell goji, the one in my area sells them for $6.50 a pound.

I know it's a drink, but I have an Ovaltine addiction. I cannot go without my ovaltine or chocolate milk drink.

Fresh juice of ALL kinds.
Yogi kombucha blend tea
Hemp, Sunflower and Olive oils
Hemp seeds. If I made six figures, I could eat 5K of these a year, easy.
Fresh green leaf salads and my wifes fresh coleslaw.
I could go on, but I MUST have these almost daily.

Mixed fresh veggie juice (usually carrot, celery, red leaf lettuce, dandelion greens, lemon & ginger) with a tablespoonful of Udo's Wholesome Fast Food powder, aloe vera juice & Greener Grasses powder stirred in. Breakfast of Champions!
Steamed broccoli
Veggies straight from my garden! I love picking cherry tomatoes & eating them immediately. This summer, we had green beans and summer squash every week, and I never got tired of them. It's wonderful to watch my food grow & KNOW that it's fresh
Seasonal fruits and veggies. I think that there is something to the idea that our nutritional and energetic needs are matched by what's in season.
Raw nuts and seeds and nut and seed butters. Yum!
Fresh sprouts. My favorites are radish, lentil & broccoli.
Sprouted wheat bread, tortillas & English muffins. I love the nutty taste and chewy texture of breads made from sprouted wheat, with no flour added.
Healthy fats! Coconut oil and milk, olive oil, grapeseed oil, hemp oil, flax oil. Avocado, olives, hemp seeds, flax seeds and meal. These additions keep a vegan diet satisfying and promote optimum health.

man i love mangosteens so much where i come from you can gorge for pennies along with other sick fruits like mango and rhambutan
my food allies:
rice lentils pasta tomatoes black/green tea + honey eggs (so good and versatile) curry yoghurt + kithul pani (honey from palm trees) spice is probably the hugest for me, I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to good food with all kinds of subtle flavours thrown in
i could go on and on about sri lankan cuisine but it would probably be greek to most of you...

I've been eating a lot of longan fruit lately. They are fairly cheap here in the US, and have lots of health benefits.

I love onions, garlic, and as of 3 months ago, sushi. I just can't have it every day.

This morning I had some spirulina, delicious raw almonds and walnuts, a carrot, a multivitamin, and 2 glasses of water. It feels very good to start the day that way.
I really like pasta (just found a good organic vodka sauce - excellent), potatoes, veggies of all kinds, Chinese and Indian cuisine. Guacamole is probably my favorite food. Regular avocado, mango, and coconut are up there too.
