Greetings! I am new to the world of Magic shroom hunting. (though not new to shrooms ) I know I live in a wonderful place filled with many different kinds of Magic Mushys. I have been waiting for the season to kick off. Took a little trip today found these bad boys, I noticed they started to bruise almost immediately after I plucked them from the ground.I have yet to obtain a decent mushroom hunting guide. (Not easy to find) I have also found it difficult to find good, hard, solid info online about ID'ing Mushrooms. Most everyone says take someone with experience with you on your 1st trip. (to hunt for mushrooms ) Alas I don't know of any exp hunters. So id though I would reach out on this board. Here is my sample pic's. Any Info on them and advice for someone who is starting out is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Pics were taken about 45 min after being picked. If there is need for more (clear) pics. Let me know and I will post more. Thanks again.
Habitat: Found growing on the ground on the side of a state trail (Known to be used by horses, but unclear as to how long ago) surrounded by fallen leaves, small ferns, and moss.
Gills: Mostly brown with a few fading to white on some of the batch.
Stem: white bruising blue
Cap: Gooey, light blue, with yellow blotches
Spore print: TBA
Bruising: Bruised blue on stem.
Location: Kitsap County, Western WA, it was a bit rainy and wet when picked.

They look quiet interesting for the head colour reminds me of Stropharia aeruginosa but they are shaped as Ps. Azurescens and as far as I know St. aeruginose don't bruise blue when touched...

Probably the inactive stropharia aeruginosa like fahkface said. I remember finding these years ago, thinking they were my first active finds. Chances are those mushrooms didn't bruise blue, but were already a blue.

Did some research on Stropharia aeruginosa and those suckers are bad news bears. I may have been inaccurate in my description of the stem. Perhaps due to my inexperience. I thought they bruised blue on contact, perhaps the stems are just permanently blue. ( I have never witnessed confirm bruising on a mushroom stem before)Looks like the 1st attempt is unsuccessful. Thanks for the reply.

Yes...I have spotted these before, I was psyched when I saw them but they actually bruise a sort of yellow. They range from their creamy color and then turn blue. Very slimy and gross btw.

I came across those today as well, also along a trail, in the same kind of setting. What city do you live in?

Either Stropharia aeruginosa or Stropharia cyanea. Neither species is active, although very similar, in shape, to common psilocybes. Probably because they come from the same Family of mushrooms.

They do look like those, but if the above were Stropharia the gills would be more of a dark purple color by that age. Looks like a rusty brown spored species to me.

this is yet another reason a print is always useful. the gills do look darker in the larger specimens and it is possible that these are low or latent spore producers.
