safe to eat ??
    #7519264 - 10/15/07 12:27 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

my buddy gave some shroomers to a few of his friends. he said by the time they finished fruiting and he picked them he found a few small spots of mean green. is it still safe for his friends to consume? or should they be pitched. they look healthy, so he says.

thanks for the help!

they're fine to eat. trichoderma isn't toxic for consumption and can be found in a good many of the foods you bring home from the grocery store. It's biggest threat is that it competes with and kills out our mycelium.

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.
