First LC am I on the right track

Well Friday night/sat AM a potato dextrose LC was created.
The jars have been in a dark place and once/twice a day the jars are swirled around.
Didnt really see any activity until this AM when they were swirled and it was noticed that a light milky white "cloud" was kicked up.
This is what I am after right? How much longer should I let them go before they are viable to use? 1-2 days?
Thanks for your input! I cant wait to innoc the substrate and start some growth!

for best results let them glob up really nice before use, it's not scientific measurement, but i like to wait, until when i shake them, it appears that the ppm is VERY high, so when i pull a syringe, it fills with lots and lots of broken up myc.
SO give it way more then 1-2 days, more like 5-6.
keep us posted and good luck man!
ps. everything else sounds great!

Cool thanks for the reply. I will give it 5-6 days and hopefully then I will be set.
It is good to swirl a few times a day correct? I read somewhere that it helps the myc propigate its growth or something of that nature...

Agh also one more question on LC's
I injected 1cc in one of my jars and 2cc in the other. I read that you can use very small amounts of spores to innoc the jar.
Now my question is this, if I use more innoculant in each jar like say 5 or 10cc's will it speed up colinization time?
(I hope I am using the proper terms)

It may speed up colonization times, however, the more spores you introduce to the LC the higher it's genetic diversity will be.
(Something I try to avoid because it seems the different genomes like to compete within the LC, and especially once spawned from grain to a bulk substrate. Cloning from a fruit body solves all these problems.)

Thanks for your reply. I can certantly see what you are saying.
So you are saying that even if these spores are from the same type (for example cubensis b+) there are sub strains inside the spore solution that will compete with each other?

[quote=etam]A clone is a copy of one strain and one strain only. When spores germinate, they start growing independently. Then they find another spore to mate with. This is a strain. So, of course, every multispore inoculation ends up with TONS of strains. If you're just sucking up multispore inoculated LC and spawning it to empty LC's, that's not cloning, that's just taking some of your multispore LC and making it last longer.
I just found this which clears it up for me about my above quesiotn. Just posting it here to help any future people's searches...

Correct.
Compete to some extent, but not usually to the point where the substrate won't fruit.
A question: did you filter the PD-LC before PCing it?

Yes I sure did. I used like a half a pack of coffee filters straining out the organic matter floating about
