I grafted them almost 72 hours ago. They have been in 90-100% RH until I took it out of my indoor flouro greenhouse to take pics then put em right back in back in.
No glue was used..

I hope they make it.

You've never heard of using super glue for Tricocereus grafts??
I've never heard of it used for Loph/Peres grafts myself; thats why I didn't use it.

come to think of it I remember an old thread Felixhigh posted in about using superglue for Loph grafts.
Let me try to find the link..
couldn't find it- it was pretty old from I think 2001. I remember felixhigh talking about grafting the bottom half of the scion in the thread, but it was not his original thread. Can't remember who started it..:sheesha:

they should make it, leave them in the humidity chamber for a few more days and then take them out...

superglue isnt recommended, and not at all necessary for seedling grafts (theres enough cell sap to stick them) but u sure as hell can use glue for grafting larger scions :yesnod:

uarewotueat , you should make a Peyote seedling to Pereskiopsis grafting Tek since your the graft master, I think it would help alot of people here.

I'm looking forward to it! Didn't you just get a new camera with great macro?

Oh BTW, how long to you guys think it will be before I notice some swelling of the scion?

I see no sign of scion swelling yet, but they seem stuck.
Is it ok to use a little fertilizer at this point?

too much nutrient can cause the scion to split also... i always advise not to give cacti a great deal of fertiliser... especially with the slower growing species...

Here's an update....
Looks as if 1 graft took and 1 failed.....
Definite swelling of one scion and the other looks like a raisin.

sorry that my camera sucks for macro shots.......

It's a Trichocereus cuzcoensis hybrid of some sort I believe....
But that's just a guess. I have posted it on here for a cactus ID without an answer.
Oh and sorry it took so long for the response.
this is the bloom.

i should think u could have them quite close seen as they give off little heat, but having never used them myself im not sure... trial and error is best... keep moving them closer, if the scions begin to turn red/purple u will know its too close :yesnod:

my grafts get sun burn under 2 20 watt cfl at 12".  flouro's may be pussy light to you pot growers, but they still burn cacti babies :sun:

i would try at a couple feet away and see. its just the first little while it will matter, over time you can move them closer.

I don't have much pereskiopsis left and many seedlings so I plan to use that branch soon.
Used some for these....

plus I gave a few away to a cactophile...
I may make a post in the marketplace to see if anyone has extra for sale.

u could cut it off and root it, having 2 scions taking energy from one root system is a disadvantage to say the least...
