Here we all are

I just walked outside and stared up at the stars, at the vast dome of the night sky. I was barefoot in the grass, in a t-shirt and shorts, and it was really chilly. For just a few moments I let the Mystery sink in and let myself be awed by it.
I was listening to a Phil Lesh song today and he said, "...trying to fit the ocean in a six-ounce cup." That's what I do most of the time. Part of my mind wants to have the Transcendental, Mysterium Tremendum tucked away next to sports and history trivia - to make it an object of knowledge.
So I made this thread to relate that experience and to say that I am glad that we are all here, and that those who have embraced the unknown are here to guide me in ways that I am not normally even remotely conscious of, towards greater awareness.
What is this reality? What is all of this? It is astonishing, incomprehensible, unspeakable... It is everything and nothing.
On an LSD trip I asked my friend, "Are you real?"
It took him a while respond. Eventually he laughed and said, "As real as you!"

I am going to go meditate. I hope everyone is having a good evening.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

i'm having a fine evening bug, thank you. i've been spending some time with the stars as well since i switched my running schedule to night time hours.
its unbelievable how we find ourselves where we are now,
and yet,
its totally believable when we consider the enormous vastness of the megacosm..
i can't help but embrace the paradox that our apparent insignificance here on this tiny speck of earth is in fact the most important experience we will ever share.

from the stars to earth and back to the stars..

For we are the stars. For we sing. For we sing with our light. For we are birds made of fire. For we spread our wings over the sky. Our light is a voice. We cut a road for the soul for it's journey through death. This is the song of the stars. For we sing, we sing with our light.

I often do that. It is ohhh sooo good. Sometimes, i really wish other species do have the capacity to look and wonder at the stars..

I took that feeling I get when I look at the stars and smashed it into a question that came out like this: "Do you understand the profound implications of your existence?"
The simple fact that we exist is just... haha
