im not aware of any deadly look-a-likes to pan subbs, but this belongs in the "mushrooms hunting" forum.

But as far as I'm aware, there are no deadly look-a-likes. There is a look-a-like, but I'm pretty sure there aren't any toxins in it, but you should still try to avoid eating them due to a lack of information concerning its ingestion.

The look-a-like is called paenolina foenesecci.

don't worry. He doesn't mean that there is a deadly look-a-like to pan subbs, he just posted a sign of a deadly mushroom cause it fit the thread well i guess? i dunno.

But don't be scared by that. It looks absolutely NOTHING like pannaeolus subbalteatus, and you will not run into it while hunting for pan subbs. There are no deadly look-a-likes to P Subbs. Unless you are very visually impaired, and dont know what P subbs look like, you should be fine hunting for them. It is a pretty distinct looking fungus.

sweet i got really confused, then i didn't know what to do so i googled it and actually found the id of a mushroom growing right next to it, the coprinus comatus (will not eat), just wondering if snubs and those grow in the same conditions

now i'm in a pinch (bescides the spore print) where i found the mushroom is a lawn with old hay and horse manure that has saturated into the soil and very close to where i found the mushrooms is a pile of hay and a pile of horse dung, it fits the habitat of both (i think)

could the subbs grow on the saturated soil as well?
