ID REQUEST: Gymnopilus luteofolius (scaly purple gym)

Was out looking for cyanescens in western washington and i came across what i beleive are gymnopilus luteofolius or aeruginosus. the younger specimens were a purpleish redish lavender color fading with age to a more yellowy color in the middle of the cap. they had bluish green stains/bruises on the caps and the stems were yellowish and bruised blue fairly quickly after handling. the veil left a bit of a ring that was made bright by the bright(almost neon colored) orange spores. they were growing on hardwood debris on the edge of a park and forest. from everything i've cross referenced they seem to fit the description for the luteofolius. i believe they contain psilocybin because of the obvious blue-green bruising on the stem(the cap doesnt bruise, but have blue green stains). any help would be greatly apreciated.....i apologize for the quality of the photos, i will soon be investing in a better camera to get non-blurry close-ups.

A young specimen.........

A mature specimen(this one was more yellowish on the cap).....

yea, like i said the spores are a bright rusty(almost neon) orange (look at the bottom photo, the orange ring on the stem is orange because of the spores that dropped on it.)

i answered in the pnw thread but ill answer here too, they dont look like luteofolius but they do appear to be an active gymn.
GGreatone knows more about the gymnopilus genus than anyone else here IMO, he could probably give you an idea of what it "might" be, unless your talking about junonius/spectibilis in which you might ask coon about.
gymnopilus genus is probably the most questioned mushroom as far as ID, its very hard to tell them all apart. if its gymnopilus genus for sure, and they are greening/blueing, i would say they are safe to consume as long as psilocybin intoxication is legal where you live.

Looks like G. luteofolius to me. Definately an active Gymnopilus at any rate. A bit hard to pin down to species since they are so variable in appearance.

so in your opinion are they worth the trouble??? maybe i could make some tea, using 10 or 12 of them?? there are about 50 or so at this patch, and i grabbed these ones for pics. i've never found(that i know of) any active gyms. could they possibly be braendlei?? or aeruginosus?? the bluing on the stem was as fast as cyanescens(within a few minutes).

its up to you wether they are worth the trouble, they taste bad and are weak so u gotta eat a lot, but they are rewarding, seems to be how you look at it and how bad your looking for it. a tea from 12-15 mushrooms would be quite nice. nice find.

right on, i'm stoked!! i'll go pick some more this week and dry them out to make some tea. i've heard the trip is a little different from psilocybes.

Looks like G. luteofolius. Some macro shots of the cap and underside would be great.

When i go back out to get some more I'll take some better shots and get some close ups of the caps in their natural environment.
