hello, iv been trying to pick the shrooms but have had no luck so far and am still abit unsure with i.ding. i hope this is a liberty cap - (an i hope the picture works lol. [image] [/image]
this and some like it were picked today and the habitat was a golf course, NE uk region.
the gills are blackish-purpleish and the mushrooms are incurved but havent got no nipple, the spore print is purpleish-black. doesnt that mean it contains psilocybin or psilocin?.
i hope the picture works, if it doesnt ill try to get some more up at another time because the cam has no battrys.
thanks people.

ok. im not really that bothered what species it is though, just that the mushroom has psilocybin in it, and you can trip your box of with them lol. is it any other type of psilocybin mushroom mate?, because i thought purple-black spore prints meant you had a good chance of it behing a magic mushroom?.
thanks alot.

or
trust everything will be allright. fingers crossed. and i only ate one because i did think they were the ones i had been looking for. so if anything bad happened on one or i felt a little bit sick ect then atleast you havent eaten 30 ect.
and people, even experts can somethimes be wrong. i agree about caution but would say dont eat mushrooms foolishly and know the possability of what might happen. its a choice, if you know you have researched enough you need know one to tell you that they are safe to eat. knowledge is power.
but i havent researched enough yet or have been wrong with judgement.
thanks for input mate.
im glad i come on here because i was going to collect some more and take them.

stick to the pills, atleast then when you eat ones that aren't what you thought they were, it won't be totally your own stupid fault.

By your reasoning, by eating just one of what you THOUGHT they were, you would be at least 1/30th of the way to a decent trip. But its not what you thought it was. By the way, for your health's sake. If you decide to pick and eat anymore of the mushroom you are holding, don't chase them with beer, alco-pops or whatever your alcohol of choice may be. They(the mushroom) contain coprine and are highly poisonous when in conjunction with alcohol. It won't kill you, but it may teach you a valuable, much needed lesson. (also, that looks nothing like a lib) do some research.
There is only so much that the experienced members of this board can do to help you. If you are determined to continue to do otherwise, I guess its your prerogative. The thing is, I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you for 2 reasons. I would never wish a poisoning on anyone. I also wouldn't want an unfortunate event be related to this board or the world of (otherwise responsible) psilocybe mushroom hunters.
Someone should close this thread.

lol. what do you mean stick to the pills?. yeah, ok im abit "daft" for eating a mushroom i wasnt a 100% on, but maybe i come on here to ask for an I.D from people who do know, so that i didnt pick and take any more, see the logic?. i knew they never had the prominent nipple, which is a sign of a lib.
ill put what ever mushroom in my mouth i want to eat aswell. if any thing goes wrong ill try to take the responsabilty for it.
and i think your preconcived ideas of me are abit wrong to.
peace.

This is the nice way of looking after people that are new to mushrooms. A nastier person would say you are a fucking idiot. Why do you say you appreciate people's IDs if you totally ignore them?
Although noone deserves to die, you show that there is obviously a grey area.
P.S. You are holding a Coprinus, not a Liberty cap. The spore print is NOT purple/black, it is black. You're obviously looking for things that aren't there, and that attitude will get you killed. Go gather another 30 of them and chase it down with half a bottle of vodka.
