Yeah, you're going to need about 20 more trays...

thats an awesome grow! i would love to see a pic of a kiddie pool, but what about contams? i say u buy the pool AND some mini tubs, and do it that way, put tubs into the pool and regulate pool. That way it stops contam spread, and you dont loose 71 qts worth of cube goodness.

Luckily, I live in a location that has a ton of thrift stores around. those are usually easy to find. As opposed to a large AA pc. lol, not too many people seem to take those into the goodwill's or thrift stores, ime.

Just finished the labor for this test run. Got the hpoo, see:

so i pasteurized it for an hour and a half or so at 170 degrees with a 10 lb weight on it. That was after i mixed with 10% verm and 5% gypsum. i let it drain overnight and when i checked it this morning i felt that it was right at field capacity. So i went ahead and got cleaned up and added the rye over a layer of poo and then the rest of the poo on top of that. covered with foil and incubated.
And this is what it looked like when i put it into the incubator:

time to wait and plan the big one. This small one got a little messy so i might need to buy some more utensils. i also have 3 bricks of coir coming if i didn't mention that above.

^That was last Sunday.^
This was taken today:

This was just a test to make sure i was doing things properly before going in head first with bulk. It appears to be going like gangbusters! I'm happy with that progress. When i do the bulk grow i will mix the rye with the poo instead of layering it. I would just HATE to have a contam on one of the bulk tubs.

I prepared the tub today. And in the next hour i will be getting the hpoo ready to go. The tricky part is going to be preparing the appropriate amount of shit.
I got a couple of 5 gallon paint strainers and two can fit nicely overtop of the PC. It will make my PC a little nasty but I'm no stranger to cleaning up.

I tested a prior casing mix and here's what it was:

^As you can see I have put 8 holes in this tub (I have another one i can use as well. . The 6 hoes on each of the long sides will have polyfil in them. The sides that have one hole in them have tyvek on each side with gorilla tape to keep in place.

So I am thinking about hooking up a couple of these tubs to something like what Akira has here:
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/6967150/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1/nt/5
FAE is very important. More pics to come as I progress. More patience please.

I've never used this type of rubbermade for a grow so im curious to see how it works out. Unlike most of them you see around here this is shallow and long. I'm concerned that i put the bottom holes too low though. The middle of the bottom holes are 5.75 in from the bottom of the tub. I will make it work out i guess. Hopefully, i will remember to leave room for the casing layer. lol.
On a side note: I went to a local Seattle based coffee house today and they were kind enough to give me about 40 lbs of spent grinds. I haven't read much about supplementing with coffee so i will spend the next few days reviewing that information. Would i get any recommendations on here from ppl's personal experience? any specific sites you might have bookmarked on this additive?

And now for the casing layer. I am going to put everything together this weekend. I have my poo ready for mass pasteurization. Each day this weekend i will be doing something - tonight im cleaning up and getting my poo all broken up. tomorrow pasteurize and the following day i will put it all in the tubs. that reminds me I also need to create another tub for my coir and coffee grow. Damn this is going to keep me very busy this weekend. I just hope i can show you guys something really cool after i get everything fruiting.
