Ok, i just noticed that on 1 of my PF cakes the veil looked like it was gonna break at some point 2day, now i notice it has broken, its been about an hour and the veil has broken quite a bit.
So i decide, fuck it, im gonna try my firstr spore print, i had some of cuts of foil in the kitchin and now i cant find it. So there was an empty packet of crips, i cut that into 2 peices shaped so that it can be folded closed, im gonna take 2 to reduce the chance of contamination.
I was trying find a suitable container to put my printing material into to sterilise in the oven, then remembered that i have oven bags, so i just popped the 2 printing material into the bag, tied it shut and in the oven.
Once its sterilised (45 min @ 160 C)
Im going to transfer straight to glove box to allow to cool, which i will sterilise with bleach then after that settles, quickly get my cap and transfer from fruiting chamber, into the glovebox and onto the peice of foil inside the oven bag.
I will leave it for 3-4 hours then move to the next peice of foil, remove and start the 2nd print which i will leave 24 hours.
2morrow i will pick up tinfoil so i can do this properly, hopefully i will have atleast 6 shrooms ready for printing.
Ok scrap it, i just checked the oven to find my 2 nicely cut peices of crisp packet in a crumpled ball, It melted from the heat. It appears that crisp packets are more plasticy than foil.
Ill start again 2morrow with some proper tinfoil -
Ok i found the tinfoil i was looking for earlier. were back in the game!!! currently sterilising.
Ok, ive managed to get the cap from an open shroom into my glovebox and into the sterilised bag with the tinfoil, im going to leave it 4 hours then move the shroom to the 2nd peice of foil, its only a small cap, about 2-3 inches, hopefully there is anough spores to create a visible print.
There will be a few more ready for printing by 2morrow hopefully bigger ones

Veda, you're a bit off on the idea! You need at least 250 degrees F. to sterilize. You're thinking of pasteurizing.

Spore prints are much more easier than that to do.
I just cut a tin foil rectangle, then I clean that with 92.8% ethanol, then I let the alcohol dry with the tinfoil inside a tupperware, then I cut the cap with a clean knife and with a needle in the cap I transfer it to the tinfoil. After 12 hours I remove the cap, then I fold the tinfoil with one side slightly open to dry in my chamber... then close and it's done.
I never had any problems with them and I made a lot.

hopefully it will work, my only concern is with getting a sterile print. Suppose we will find out when i make a test syringe.
Theres another 6 shrooms that are gonna be ready to print later on and there larger than the one thats printing just no, so ill give them ago aswell.

I think i picked the mushroom to early, i left it over 24 hours and when i took it out, the shroom was cracker dry, no spore print.
Reason i think i picked to early, is that i left some shrooms on the cake and forgot to pick them, next day, spores everywhere!!!!!
Should have some shrooms again next week, i will spore print a few of them.
Just a shame im gonna have to get EQ spores again, syringe empty.
Lipa Yai is currently fruiting, will print and possibly clone if i see a fruit i like.

This is the best spore printing technique I've yet heard! After the print is made, do you just inject the container with a sterile water solution, shake/scrape to dislodge the spores, and then draw the solution back into the syringe?

There are many printing techniques that are probably all valid, some people like to let it print for upto 4 hours then move to a 2nd printing medium and let it sit 24 hours, to reduce contams.
There are a few teks in the mushroom cultivation section of the site
http://www.shroomery.org/8400/DarkWings-EZ-Syringe-Tek hers one that goes straight from making the print to getting it in a syringe,
theres some other ones here
