Outdoor experts:Outdoor grow and rain?(Added Pics)
    #7515560 - 10/14/07 12:07 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

About a month ago I dumped a whole jar of LC on my lawn clippings pile.
Didn't expect anything to happen as I thought the LC was no good.(I inoculated 7 jars and the LC didn't grow.)Anyway, last week we had a lot of rain and now the last 3 days have been sunny but really foggy in the morning. When I was mowing my lawn,I looked at the pile and there was several 6" round spots of white mycelium poking threw and some little white balls on some of it which leads me to think that its getting ready to pin.
The question I have is that its suppose to start raining again in a day and a half and not let up all week. Will these still pin when its raining or do I need to place something over the small patch? Or should I leave it be?

Wow! I would let nature do it's thing. You put them out there for a reason. You were not expecting anything. If it happens it happens, (think of it as gifts from the gods). that's just me! Then again I have some active grows in process, so it's easy for me to say that LOL!

But I thought that your not suppose to get mushrooms wet directly?Ill leave it uncovered.I just thought by putting something over it to keep the rain from hitting it directly would be best.

I think the fact that it's outside means that it gets so much FAE that getting wet is no problem. It'll dry out on the surface pretty quickly and the substrate will have lots of water! I think you'll get some great fruits from that so congrats!
