Laundry Basket Tek question

This question goes out to any one that has any experience with the laundry basket tek. Hey RR if you have anything to add it would be very much appreciated. I've prepped my basket and layered it with straw, grain and then I cased it. I know that some people say that it's not needed but hey I did it anyway. I was reading on another post that some people put a black trash bag with holes poked in them while it colonizes. The question is this necessary, I thought that original reason for the vision baskets was to just prepare it and let it go? Will the trash bag allow you not to mist every day? Right now my basket is in the open air and I mist the sides two to three times where it dries out is this recommended? I know that's a lot to digest but any help would be great.

By Visions method if I remember correctly, you're not supposed to mist the sides. Let them dry out, and the dry straw serves as the contamination barrier. He poured water down from the top.
I do it a bit different by placing in a bag or large tote with holes cut into it for gas exchange. This keeps the CO2 levels higher during colonization, which actually prevents the mycelium from turning as much of the subsrate carbon into CO2, which reduces the size of the substrate greatly.
About a week after full colonization, I introduce to the normal fruiting conditions of high humidity and lots of air exchange. I don't fruit them in open air unless it's the rainy season outdoors, in which case I set them on the back porch to fruit. You can see a short, low resolution preview video of the way I do it on my website. RR

sorry for the confusion on the pdf file I'm still new so I forget to upload the pics then insert the code into the text. RR Thanx I'll stop spraying the side and just water from the top down and hope and pray that it works out.
