Sweet Home Alabama ?

Alright, so for 6 weeks I've read field guides, studies pics and characteristics of active mushrooms that are supposed to be native to my area. I would conservatively guesstimate that over the aforementioned time period I have put a minimum of 60 hours into research. So, apparently from what I've read, P.Cubensis should be EVERYWHERE around here. After 4 weeks of on and off rain they should definately be growing somewhere in my area. I have seen a plethora of unidentified mushrooms growing in cow fields, in my yard, on the side of the road, in nature trails in parks, etc, etc. I have yet to spot a single mushroom that resembles one of the active, native to my area species closely enough to pick in hopes of getting a positive ID. So..... Anyone happen to know why west central Alabama seems to be active mushroomless? Anyone in the general area had any good finds within oh, say the last month? Any responses welcomed ! Flame me even if you want lol! I have searched the same areas a few times... The weather pattern recently has, for the most part, been like rain 1-3 days, clear 3-5 days, rain 1-3 days, clear 3-5 days and so on. Been like that at least a month now..../sigh Sweet Home Alabama my ass heh.

Yeah I live in AL too and for some reason (this area especially has a history with shrooms) I haven't been able to find any myself, this year at all.

Hey everyone. I'm new to these forums and I hope someone out there can help. Over the past couple weeks we have been attempting shroom hunting. It went alright the 2nd night, we bagged a total of 3 (wow). Anyway moral of the story is I was wondering if anyone knows where to look in the Lauderdale county area? The spot we hit is under too much watch and. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Being a noob I completely understand if you give me hell for posting this here.

Hunting has been slightly disappointing for my first season here in BFE Alabama, BUT one successful excursion left me with approx. 40g wet. Decent I suppose but hopefully season isn't COMPLETELY over just yet

You cant post locations, the only way to find mushrooms is to go out and look, we cant help you find mushrooms behind a computer screen sorry.

The state has been in a huge drought since the spring. I did see some inactives pop up in my front yard a couple of weeks ago, but I still think its a little too dry for the higher fungi right now.
