very cool, i think. videotape is one of my favs, beautiful mellow song. the rest of the album is a lot more upbeat though, very cool also though. different and cool!

this is a very good CD, they definitely have done some better and more classic work, but 15 steps, bodysnatchers, nude, and jigsaw are fuckin awesome.
the layering of the guitars in bodysnatchers was really good.

Why? You can download it for free from their website. Or you can skip the freeloader part and throw them a couple bucks for making another good album.

All their recent albums have leaked two months early... or so...
People have always wondered if Thom was behind the leaks.
I think we have our answer.
Last time I saw them, "Hail to the Thief" wasn't yet out, but it had already been leaked.
They played all their new songs, and the audience sang along. Finally Thom asks us how we liked the new album. We all cheered. He then reminded us with a wink, "It isn't out yet."

Good enough that the pretentious assholes that make up the Pitchfork staff feel it worthy of being one of the two albums listed under "Best new music" for now.

In Rainbows rules man- you need to get it download it and listen.
The first few tracks are my favorite, but the entire album really completes an entire sound. IAfter a few listens through i picked up on many more subtleties* that really define the album. I wouldnt say its the best radiohead album, but it is very good. And very promisiong, especially considering they have like another 10 tracks to be realeased pretty soon.
All in all its fuc*ing awesome, RAdioHEad can never do any wrong. Get IT. I wish it would have had more bass or guitar, a bit harder sound like in my fav. track: Bodysnatchers, but its still killer good.
Keep listening- the album will spin beside itself and suck you in.

It's good.. but it's no "OK Computer".. or even "Kid A"... although it sounds more like the latter. I'll give it some credit.. it's way better than Amnesiac... then again.. Amnesiac sucked balls.
its just a conglomoration of all their styles (not including the first two albums). Rolling stone made it sound like it was going to have 20 tracks and it only had 10.. good thing.. i would have vomited it "down is the new up" was going to be on it.
Honestly I was hoping it was a little more rockin'

I'm on the fence.
I like the album, but I'm not in love with it. Although, I wasn't in love with Kid A at this point, either. It grew on me.
I can't wait to hear more... and I'm surprised they left the rockin' out. I agree with Brain. Rockin' Radiohead... well, it ROCKS!

Yeah... I didn't want to say Amnesiac...
But, I trust the band and its evolution. Usually, mediocre albums are followed by cool fucking stuff.
It is no Hail to the Thief, or OK Computer... but thank God somebody still cares about true, artistic progressive ROCK!

Man, I tried like hell to bring it back...but right after I got that bug up my ass, the RIAA got that new licensing fee law passed, and now its too expensive. I'm just too stubborn to take it out of my signature because I don't want people to FORGET. No shroomery radio. Why? BECAUSE OF THE MOTHERFUCKIN' RIAA.

1. OK Computer and Kid A (a tie for me) 3. The Bends 4. Hail to the Thief 5. Pablo Honey (still good) 6. Amnesiac (zzzzzz)
still waiting for rainbows to settle but i'd probably wedge it between Hail and pablo.

I've been thinking about starting my own 24-7 internet radio station. My idea was to save money by actually only playing music from a list of songs where the owner gave me written consent (which limits me to really small labels or people trying to just get noticed) in exchange for linking to a place to buy their music.
If I did it this way, just slowly stockpiling a massive amount of songs this way.. I'd never have to pay a penny to the RIAA and I'd eventually have plenty of music.
except for when doing dj mixes... I dunno. I've been thinking about when I finally get some money saved in a year or two, to start my own record label here in DC. This would be a good way to slowly get that started.
Waddaya think? Want to partner up on an idea like this? It wouldn't exactly be shroomery radio... but maybe we could get the shroomery to fund a small part of it. I could fund some of it also.
