 plain salvia leaf...

so i got like an ounce of salvia leaves yesterday and i thought i would make some more of my homemade extracts but i decided to give it a try. since i had never smoked plain leaf, i wanted to see just how weak plain leaf effects were (i assumed it was weak because everyone is saying how they can never break through on it). so i pull out my classic pipe, crumble a leaf and put a pinch in. i take it all in one hit and exhale a few seconds later. i put the pipe down and wasn't feeling much but i was enjoying the taste. so i go to turn off the light when i realize that i'm fading out. i walk to my bed and close my laptop, i then pick it up to put somewhere else and my arms weigh a ton and a half. 
"holy fucking shit, was this really leaf or was it some extract?", so i pick up the bag and i can clearly see the whole leaves. at this point i'm starting to come up really fast so i jump in bed and close my eyes. there weren't many visuals but i could definitely feel "the other place". a couple of minute later, here i am writing this.
conclusion: if i had had 2 hits (or even if i had held that single hit longer) i would have achieved total break through so i think i no longer need extracts. 
**keep in mind that before today, i had smoked once on wednesday or thursday and before that i hadn't touched salvia in a few months.**

how do you guys do it!!! I smoked 20x everyday for a week and didn't eeven get visuals (4 times i've done this, meaning i'd get a gram of 20x smoke it everyday for a week, say fuck it, wait a month, and try again)

i don't know man, i guess i'm very sensitive to it. since the very first time i smoked salvia (6x extract) i've never had trouble experiencing full effects. on my first time, salvia kicked my ass in a good way, a very, very good way.
i can honestly say that 80-90% of the times i have smoked salvia i have gotten to the point that i wanted to get too. and i'm not a regular smoker either, i usually have at least a gram of 10x but i don't smoke often. right now i have a couple grams of ~10x from an extraction i carried out last week and now i have this ounce of leaf. this should be enough for what's left of the year.

i TRY!!!!!!! what happens is like no matter what i cough so i try taking a big hit and i cough most of it up so i wait a minute and take a small pinch and i can hold that for pretty long but i just hear stuff, like conversations and junk and i become a british guy who works for kim novak or a little kid and the teacher tells me to come inside or wweird stuff like that

yea Ive only used plain leaf, and it took a couple times of trying it to breakthrough but when i did i really did. So much that I haven't tried it since. 
but yeah I just load my bong and rip it and hold, then quickly pack another bowl in case I need it. Salvia is crazy. You really do hear a woman communicate with you. In my case she was speaking to me through a very tiny key hole while I was the ground haha.
It was probably more than a year ago and I still remember those 5 minutes quite clearly.

sounds to me like you pass the sparkly eyecandy (level 3-4) and go into visionary/immaterial (4-5)
people call breakthrough level 5 usually
much more than that is just amnesiac.
try a wee bit less - you can repeat after about 5-15 mins if you like.
