cake not pinning

My friend lives in a dorm so he has a single cake fruiting chamber set up and he's had this cake in it for 3 weeks now and still no pinning. Humidity is high and he fans it as often as he can (his roommate doesnt know so he has to wait till hes gone or asleep). Also he says he birthed it early and i dont think he cut all of the uncolonized area off. Is this cake hopeless? Or is there something he can try to do.

Is it getting light? Also make sure the humidity is as high as possible.

I don't know what the possible outcomes are, but I do know that the premature birthing is a big reason for the delays if not the entire reason... The cake doesn't look fully colonized by any means, though I'm unsure whether you can reincubate it or not or just trim up the uncolonized parts, fruit, and hope for the best

you should try and incubate it at 86 for a while longer see what happens. If contams show up toss it. Otherwise it will give it a chance to grow a bit more.

but hes sayin its not uncolonized, it was 95% when his buddy birthed it, annnnd hes already dunked and rolled it.
so he went wrong in birthing b4 fully colonized(and tell your friend to wait a week after 100% colonization to birth from now on), but being that he already did all the other stuff, can he put it back in an incubator, or would it be better to just flush this one out, and do better procedure next go???
cuz really nothin looks wrong with that cake does it? it might be a lil dehydrated...or at least some spots look it

hmm you might be right.. Its really a matter of preference either way you go I think you can get results. If its low in moisture you could help it along. Or incubate it more and it will be ready again in a few days. really up to you.

Yes I think that is a possibility.. I am a man of action sorry.. I dont like to wait but if your going to wait I might dunk it wash off the verm and redo it just to be sure about the moisture if now i would incubate it like I said its up to you..

is the myc poppin thru your rolled vermiculite more each day?
my cakes arent too different from yours, but the myc is spreadin around them well, so im not concerned about them yet.
if its stalled maybe re-dunking is your best bet, or making a baby sized casing, bcuz that casing layer will help to keep the moisture in it that it needs.
heres one cake cased, its the one in the top right
