UK Cyans and a couple of Intruders!
    #7512680 - 10/13/07 04:51 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

Here's some pics of today's cyan haul (first 3 pics).

Last 2 pics were in the same woodchip bed. Any ideas on an ID for both?

Were those in commercial or chipped up debris? coniferous or hard wood?

I was hoping that cyans wouldn't be out in this area of the UK yet. I came across more than an acre of woodchips, but so far I've only spotted "intruders." hyphlomas, galerina autumnalis and stroph. aeruginosa.
My hope was that cyans are coming soon with better weather. Otherwise, i'm gonna have to find another spot:(
Congrats on the find by the way. Enjoy!
What are those in pic number 4?

These were found on commerical woodchips, that have not been replenished for a dew years.

I've seen some out of the train window on the way to work some 50 miles away too. Lots of wood chips from felled trees, but cyans only on two out of a dozen heaps. So they must be different trees that were felled.

Season still a little dry, but I was picking from this time into Mid December last year.

I don't know what #4 are, but they have purplish brown/brown/black prints but no bluing. There were sheets of these and #5 in the same spot and a few cyans around.

Don't know if the deadly Galerinas frequent the UK? but I'm intriuged to know what they are as you have to be on your toes to spot them from a cyan in the field. When the caps dried out, they went two toned just like cyans?

#5 Could be Honey fungus maybe, I've sort of narrowed those down to about 6 possibles.
