casing rye

My friend has some rye jars that are ready to go. He plans to do a variety of things with them including G2G, Casing directly, and spawning to compost and or coir. What hes wondering is how he should go about removing the rye from the jar and breaking it up. Should he just beat them against a tire and pour out or is there a more gentle method that he should use for this step?

using a tire, or similar bouncy-bouncy, _is_ the gentlest means to get them out...

Keep in mind that inoculating or whatever in front of a flow hood won't help your bad substrate, your bad inoculant, your bad sterile procedure, etc. etc. etc. It's not a +3 flowhood of magic, it's just a tool.

A 2 X 4 or thick telephone book works too.
