I orignally set out to do a light malt/dextrose LC but the brewery ran out of light malt so i had to settle on straight dextrose.
Anywho, I added 4cc's of black coffee from Tim Horton to approximately 520ml of boiled water/dextrose. I filtered the mixture through 5 coffee filters twice, replacing the original filters with new ones on the second filtration followed by a PC at 15psi for 20minutes.
I am useing Agar's LC lids slightly on the ghetto side see'ing as my silicone skills suck balls...
Here's the pictures of the finished product.

Still pretty clear looking with 4cc's of black coffee. I'm just wondering if anyone has used coffee with their lC and what kind of results they acheived? I'm looking to maximize my spore solution and cutt down on colonization times of 1litre jars and everyone claims LC is the way.
The polyfill filters were kept dry during the pc by wrapping tinfoil around the tips of the tubing and useing duck tape to keep them tight, i left the lid on the jar loose and tightend as soon as i opened the pc.
I have some A-strain spores re-hydrating and the jar is cooling, I tryed to research previous members work with coffee in LC but the results were dry, not enough information. Can someone give me some input on their research please.
Take care.

I haven't done any research, but the small amount of coffee you added should provide nutrients without throwing off the pH too much.
If you were to use larger amounts of coffee I would think the addition of calcium carbonate (and the use of some pH strips) would be necessary.
Straight coffee would probably work if it were pH adjusted in this way; however, that's just a theory.
May I stand corrected?
