Gangsta Rap: The New 80's Hair Metal??

Let us face it, brothers in grime, Gangsta Rap is slowly becoming a parody of itself. Snoop Dog acts like himself's self. It is kinda embarassing. Actually calling him embarassing might help him out.
Twisted Sister is to Hair Metal as Snoop Dog and Ice Cube is to Gansta Rap.
Gangsta rap is lame. 50 cent can suck my incredibly dinky penis. And swallow all the cum the belch-wretch it into the Yin Yang Twin's mouth.
I happen to like Twisted Sister and Snoop Dog for generally non-musical reasons.
What's ya'll opinion?

well there's always two sides to a coin
There's the cheesy rap that you're referring too.. ie 50 Cent
but then there's the actual rap which is true to it's style. I don't listen to rap but I'm sure there are many people on this board that can suggest some very good rappers that aren't controlled by record labels.
this can be applied to any style of music.. there's the cheesy and then there's the true

I wouldn't be surprised at a huge reggae revival though

Yeah, it's on its way out thank the gods.
You know when they start having rap awards shows its become too mainstream and something will come along to take its place.
Rap is crap.

I do agree that Twisted Sister sucks...but does anyone know who Paul Gilbert is? He was around in the 80's and still plays. The guitar takes way more skill then rapping IMO...here's a video to check out:

yah Paul Gilbert is bad-fuckin ass, he used to be in Racer X and stuff. I saw him with Joe Satriani and John Petrucci in december.
Paul Gilbert taught Buckethead how to play too.

as long as people understand there is a difference between rap and hip-hop, i'm ok with agreeing that yes - rap is typically a complete pile of shit. good hip-hop on the other hand...well it's just that. good hip-hop; blue scholars, zion i, ra the rugged man, del tha funkee homosapien, hieroglyphics, the grouch - yeah there's definitely some lyrical snipers out there. as far as annoying shit like three six mafia and faggets like the soulja boy go - yeah, they're ruining a good thing. fuck them - and pretty much fuck the bling booty and bass industry of rap, it's annoying and sucks ass as hard as it can - so yeah fuck rap.

That's horrible you put Soulja Boy along side of the 36 mafia, I don't like them but they're on a completely different level.
