can u use contaminated jars with moes outdoor tek? like cut out the bad pieces and throw the mycelium in there?

i threw several spent/contaminated cakes in the back yard under some straw and last week i found about 20 unexpected shrooms.

I dont understand the point of tossing a contaminated cake outdoors. I can understand spent cakes. But a contaminated cake is a contaminated cake, wheather its indoors or outdoors.
