Yes. Mushrooms do just grow sometimes. That is how we get them in the stores and restaraunts.

Relatively few are lethal and/or psychoactive.

get some field guides. autobon has a fair general purpose field guide for North American Mushrooms.

Don't go eating any and all mushrooms you see in your yard buddy. Few are desirable to eat (either for taste or for psychoactive effects) do as people say and learn about ANYTHING you plan to eat BEFORE you eat it.
