A Confused Noob

Yo, I've been doing a fair amount of mushroom research, so I'm a fairly informed noob. There is one thing, however, that I do not quite understand. How 'common' are cubies? For instance, providing the conditions are suitable for shroom fruiting, would you say there is a high/medium/low chance of finding active shrooms?
It is the beginning of spring here on the Gold Coast, Queensland, and I would believe the weather has been perfect for dung-loving shrooms, like Cubensis'. There has been plenty of rainfall over the last few days, it's quite humid (average 75% humidity) and the temperature usually hovers around 25 degrees for most of the day.
I went searching through some nearby cow pastures today, as I thought it would be prime hunting conditions, considering it was a hot and humid day after plenty of rainfall.
To my dismay, there were no mushrooms to be seen!
So my other question is: Does the weather need to be hothothot and extremely humid, just like tropical/sub-tropical summers, for cubensis' to thrive?
Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but I've been doing plenty of research and I just need to clear a few things up. Would be great to hear some advice. Hearing from people in similar climates would be a bonus!
Thanks guys.

I don't know how common cubensis is in your area but here is a list of actives found in Queensland.
Do some research on these species. It sounds like your weather conditions are right, you should be able to find something. Mushroom hunting requires a lot dedication to study and field time.
Queensland Gymnopilus junonius Panaeolus cyanescens Psilocybe cubensis Psilocybe subaeruginosa
Edit: Actually I had to convert the temperature to fahrenheit 25 degrees is about 77 deg F. So it may need to warm up a b it.

Didn't you already have a thread about this?
As someone said in the other thread, they're not very common if you're just hitting random fields, but once you find a few, you'll probably find a lot more close by.
You just have to get out there and look and look. Good rain usually means two or three solid days and lots of humidity.
Just be dedicated. If you didn't find anything try another spot somewhere else. Try again when the temps have ramped up and/or there's been more rain. Keep looking.
I had to spend hours trawling posts on this site and others before i got a basic idea of where shrooms grew in my area. Look for little clues in posts and just try to put it all together.
