First off, Hello to everyone:) I've been ripping through the Shroomery vaults, cram packing all this info and incredibal insight about this wonderful hobby. There are many inspiring people this forum........i said many, not all.;)
With that said My first question would have to be..
Would it be okay to use a cool mist humidifier that was bought from a thrift store? I bought two pretty good sized humidifiers for 5 bucks but they look super old. I don't think i'll be ever to find replacement filters so is it a lost caused and if so can some give me the absolute best way of humidifying a Martha closet or two. Brand names and such.
Thanks!

Just make sure they aren't the evaporative cool mist type. This type harbors lots of bacteria and molds... I believe I've heard the vicks 400 &420 are popular, as well as the walgreens brand. Just look for the impellar type with the largest fill capacity for less maintenance.

Assuming you have an impeller type humidifier, you can easily create your own filter. Just tear out the foam stuff from the plastic casing of the filter. Then wrap a single layer of micropore tape around the plastic. EASY! If you use additional layers of micropore tape thinking you've created a better filter, you will get flow issues and burn out the motor on your cool mist.
