Libs In Newfoundland!?

I am from Newfoundland, Canada. As some of you know the only thing we have here are Liberty Caps. The problem is I'm having no luck finding any EVER, in my town the surrounding towns have lots of them but no luck here. Now most of my friends pick them on other people lawns and i don't want to do that. there aren't many fields here and there are no places with cows.
If any newfies here have any tips or could help me it would be appreciated. Do you guys ever find them in the woods? only in grass planted by people, or wild grass in wooded areas.?

woods =
you can find a few scattered in parks and other grassy fields, but your best bet is always to find a pasture or farmland and give it a browse

Yeah it seems that the images isn't working right, i'll try and fix that later.
And yes, i was gonna research before baking..and i found out i shouldn't so i won't , but i read i should make the brownies but just add the mushrooms to the fudge and coat the top.
But they are not dry...is there a quick way to dry them without harming them...like if i sit them next to a wood stove for a while..i'm quessing that would maybe destroy them chemicals too

better to air dry them slowly and at as cooler temp as possible, but drying them for consumption isnt necessary at all...

great to hear about your finds.
hope the brownies work out good. in my opinion, you'd be best to put generous amounts of mushroom on each brownie, as your stomach may be less than friendly if you have to stuff down three or so brownies right before your trip

i'm in st. john's, haven't had much luck so far. picked about 70 shrooms all year. my normal fields has been picked to death and abused the past few years, and no one likes sharing their locations with me. too bad.

more or less. but they have been up to some extent for weeks.
i just wish we had a wood-dwelling active, as the whole island is nothing but pine forests, and quite frankly, I love the woods.

you could always start some er, isolated incidents, in that vein. but for hunting semies, don't you also have a lot of natural meadowland? i've not been up there more than briefly. i love canoodia by the way, being from alaska. our homes have a lot in common.

no, not a whole lot in the way of meadowland, at least not in any of the places i've been on the island. mostly coniferous forest and bog (wetlands). most of the well-known shroom picking spots that i'm aware of only have grass because the forest was removed years ago, typically to farm, or for utility-pole lines, etc.
i'd love to introduce a new species to the woods. i'll put it on the to-do list, under laying down some new floors and changing my oil.

well it's not quite like introduction, or not on a perpanent basis. generally, man made patches will persist for a few years, or longer as they are maintained. this is still nice and it's great to have a mostly no hassle place to reap the fruits of your own labor.

I just got back from the park where we have a camp..the guys go there to smoke weed most of the time.. but we also use it to hang out before we go near by to duck hunt..it's a nice little place..I'll post pics of it. I'll also post pics of the finished product of the brownies if i can figure out how to upload pics here the right way.
Well my friends tripped really hard..lol, i ended up coming home because i couldn't handle anymore laughter without me being on their level..Ha
2 of my friends just laughed their asses off and my other friend did too, but later he seemed confused/worried as he lost sense of time. He found it hard to believe it was 9pm when he thought it was at least 11-12pm.
all in all it was a good laugh and a great time even though i never ate any..but after a while so much laughter got annoying..lol

Oh and Canid, libs have been up for a few weeks but they will get a lot more plentiful as it gets colder. I'm also VERY interested in learning how to make a man made patch that i can keep secret and fill with Liberty Caps.
I guess in order to do that I will need to obtain spores from the mushrooms here...it would also be nice to grow some that do not grow here if possible.

haha.
seems like next time you may want to exercise a little bit of discretion over who you provide with mushrooms. just a thought.
as the parent raccoon said to its young, "careful baby, some mushrooms are not for raccoons!"

He wasn't having a bad trip or anything.. i think he was just getting kinda annoyed by the lenght of it.
