The power of dancing.

I'm stuck at my house on house arrest for certain indiscretions of my past, but that's mostly irrelevant, just saying to provide a better "frame" for my situation if you will.
While I may still partake in multiple different substances to make these boring times pass easier (my P.O. is remarkably lax) , I am choosing to abstain just to see how I cope. I would probably still like to experiment with mushrooms, because of my extreme curiosity, but they seem to elude me here, and I'm assuming the season has ended by now.
So I've been downloading oodles and oodles of music, and when the rents are gone, I find myself hooking the ipod up to the stereo and blasting a ton of (IMO) emotionally stirring, dance-able, just bloody brilliant songs (some artists including Hybrid, Junkie XL, and the like, and many other different genera), and dancing without restraint.
I find that when I get really carried away by the music, feeling a strange sense of oneness with my surroundings, and a small surge of euphoria not unlike the threshold effects of LSD (which I have taken numerous times).
I've had many recent difficult tribulations as of late, including the loss of an incredibly close family member, but I find my daily activity is a remarkably spiritual release of stress, and it almost immediately cures any case of the doldrums that I may have for that day.
I've always enjoyed dancing, but it seems that now, I've reached into something more primal and intoxicating than anything I had previously encountered.
I'm sure I'm not alone in this experience, so I would love to hear your stories and encounters concerning this.

a dance is like allowing one's self get carried away by the flow of a river.
when you're finished, you step out onto the bank and find yourself in a fresh, new, environment.
the past is upstream, your mind is now clear, destiny lies straight ahead.

Lately I haven't been able to think of much to respond to in posts, aside from happy emoticons. This post definitely warrants a few happy emoticons.

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I love dancing, but I always end up getting a little self-conscious when dancing in front of others. I guess I fear judgement and I want to dance well. I guess dancing alone in front of the mirror is a good way to overcome this though.
You know, on second thought, I might just say fuck it and dance in front of people whether they like it or not. If they want to judge me then that's their issue, not mine.

So true. ^_^ I shall remember this saying, it's like a motto for my life.

i feel like i have to make less decisions (if i ever do..and if I dont..then i feel more spontaneous)

I agree, yet I disagree.
While I'm free to move wherever. I free myself to move in accordance to the.. umm.. natural way... err.. I do feel like something is controlling me when I dance, on shrooms at least. But not like I'm being used as to listening to how my body wants to move...
I hope I made a little sense there.

Lol, dancing on acid is ridiculous. I haven't done it in months. I still feel I need to try mushys before I drop some L again.

Dancing is the shit. The coolest part about dancing, if you can work up the courage to dance in front of others, is that it gives people around you the courage they need to partake in the celebration. We have our bodies, extremely capable of movement and expression. Might as well have fun with them
cheers
